He's talking about sentence at the trials in Egypt. No comment from me other than its a mess. Another example of the West encouraging the so called Arab Spring then standing and watching the carnage.

I will probably be slated for this from someone but here goes.

What has happened is an onset to ethnic cleansing. This has happened before most of us were alive but also in our lifetime.

I could list a load of examples but am sure most of us could.

I find this situation very uncomfortable as it has all the attributes of another '.ethnic cleansing.' situation starting.

it will only end in more deaths..

Central

The Egyptian military have had too much power since before the Spring. The west permits them some leeway so that they can be of future use, as and when. The trial seems totally unfair and unjust, but thats the kind of result you get in a corrupt military led state. Very tragic, though actual may not be carried out in all instances, but I believe they will want to, as a mark of power and to quell further uprising. The west should be far more influential in ethical ways.

"500 from the so called Muslim brotherhood given the death sentence!!!....thoughts on this"

This morning, an Egyptian court sentenced 529 people to death, a pretty staggering number given that state authorities across the world carried out a total of 682 executions in 2012, according to Amnesty International. The move is a major escalation of the military-led government’s months-long crackdown on Islamists in Egypt. But it is hard to believe that it will actually be carried out.

The defendants, most of them members of the now-banned Muslim Brotherhood, are accused of participating in attacks on Christians last August in the southern province of Minya. The riots occurred shortly after authorities forcibly dispersed Muslim Brotherhood protest camps in Cairo on Aug. 14—killing more than 600 supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsi, a member of the Brotherhood.

According to eyewitnesses, a march of several hundred Muslim Brotherhood members and others arrived in Minya from a nearby town on Aug. 16. The angry crowd looted and torched nearly 40 churches and damaged 23 more. Several people were killed, among them the deputy commander of the district police station in Minya.

It also says they won't be put to death but who knows what they are accused of is pretty dire though but so was what the IRA did over the last 40 years or so. One thin is for sure man can be pretty brutal on fellow man.

"for a swinging site , this site is very political don't you think ?"

Yes and I for 1 don't see that as a bad thing.

It's easy to ignore threads that have no interest to you though

"Lol l would be banned for life off here lf l told you my thoughts. first of all i doubt your thoughts are yours. Your thoughts are probably heavily influenced by the type of media you look at , friends you have, upbringing, propaganda and fears.

second, they are not" the so called muslim brotherhood." They are the muslim brotherhood.

Third, do you live in a fascist state that proclaims to protect freedom of speech but will punish you for speaking your truth ?

He kept his opinion to him self so how do you know anything about his upbringing let alone his _iew ? "

It's clear he was referring to the origins of one's _iews, thoughts and opinions..which are rarely completely independent of any external influences... I.e. Upbringing, friends, schooling received, books and newspapers read, cultural background etc

Nothing controversial really.

There's more to this story than that which the meets the eye. Just because certain governments or groups of individuals may class a certain type of people/or those affiliated to a certain group to be terrorists...doesn't actually mean that they are. Especially not when they won the election democratically and chosen by the people - it's like telling people your free to vote for anyone you wish but not them.

...the legitimate president of Egypt is President Morsi. And they all know it. But, no one can do anything against the military coup that took place. Especially not when others around the world are pulling the strings to keep their interests at bay by removing him.

I think he makes it intentionally quite obvious what sort of thoughts he has on this issue without expressing what those thoughts are.

It's the same old story. The west is all for introducing overnight democracy to places that have survived without it for thousands of years but are then surprised if the wrong people get elected.

'Wrong people' in the eyes of the West maybe but maybe not for those living in those countries.

...like i say. It's better to be fixing your own home first before you try fixing someone elses home.

My thoughts exactly"

The death penalty isnt a deterrent for murder. However i would introduce it for politicians who lie or deliberately use false statistics and propaganda. Or for bankers who mis sell or manipulate the markets and avoid tax, same for business's. Also people who have umbrellas up when it isnt really raining and are so blisfuly unaware of other people and the width of the umbrella and its spiky brim taking out the eyes of any passer by
