A question I just got asked. I have blue hair, piercings, tattoos, I sing in a rock band...i'm sooo mainstream clearly!

Just covers. All sorts from the 50s to more current, just hits which people enjoy dancing to! So maybe not that 'alternative' but i'd love to see someone 'mainstream' with blue hair.

Interesting question.

For me, it's the exact opposite. I look rather plain, have no tattoos, and am a pretty easy going guy. Not much of a partier...more of a Bookworm. People are always very surprised to find out I'm into a lot of heavy rock and Punk.

Ok then, so what makes someone alternative? And what makes someone mainstream? I would consider myself to be me! I tend not to label. But I think my friends would say I'm alternative. What with the blue hair, tattoos, music taste and the fact I swing! But I have a 'normal' day job.

i think the problem with the label alternative is that you have to ask alternative to what ?

If a million people all had blue hair would that not simply be a trend.

im much happier not thinking about what i am, just happy to be
