I'd go mad if someone did that to me. My knee would land somewhere soft and cause quite a bit of pain. I'd make sure the tape was destroyed and the person was reported.

You have to put signs up to say that a CCTV is in operation which then makes it legal.

"is it actually illegal if you dont have permission?

It depends what is caught by the camera.

Voyeurism is an offence when the other person has not consented BUT it has to cover some form of sexual action or be for the sexual gratification of the voyeur. Merely filming a meet without consent, either in public or private which doesn't contain sexual activity etc, isn't illegal.

Chances of seeing a hidden camera a small.

Hidden cameras can be tiny, some only need a small aperture to _iew through.

I have one that can be hidden, its about the size of my thumb, its used as a helmet-cam.

If we found someone filming us during a meet, party or whatever, the storage media (sd card, sim card, memory etc) would be trashed, and the person would be lkcky to avoid harm!

close, but not quite right. it's illegal if there isan expectation of privacy which has been iinfringed. if you're meeting inside any home or hotel there is a reasonable expectation of privacy regarding the activities and as such any recording without prior consent is indeed illegal. however, if you've got the curtains and windows innorder to facilitate observation by the general public then it would not be illegal as there was no expectation of privacy.

Sorry, as I stated, it requires sexual acts as defined below direct from the sexual offences act 2003.

The offence of voyeurism covers cases where someone who has a reasonable expectation of privacy is secretly observed. The offence may be committed in a number of ways:

by direct observation on the part of the offender;

by operating equipment with the intention of enabling someone else to observe the victim;

by recording someone doing a private act, with the intention that the recorded image will be _iewed by the offender or another person; or

by installing equipment or constructing or adapting a structure with the intention of enabling the offender or another person to observe a private act.

In all cases the observation, or intended observation, must be for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification and must take place, or be intended to take place, without the consent of the person observed.

The SOA 2003 defines a 'private act', in the context of this offence, as an act carried out in a place which, in the circumstances, would reasonably be expected to provide privacy, and where the victim's genitals, buttocks or breasts are exposed or covered only in underwear; or the victim is using a lavatory; or the person is 'doing a sexual act that is not of a kind ordinarily done in public'.

I'd not let him know I'd seen it. Entice him into some kinky bondage play, tie him down.

Go through his wallet and phone and get all his details, address, contacts, job etc.

Take compromising photos of him and text/email them to everyone he knows.

Then leave him tied and gagged for as long as it takes for someone to find him...probably his wife.

If it were small enough and self contained enough to have it's own power, I'd ram it up his arse so he could see his colon.

Actually, large and with a cable attached too.

There was a case that went through the courts a while ago. A landlord put cameras in his tenants house, he recorded women that he rented his places to. He got down and went to prison.

Just one thing, if they are secret, how would you spot them???

but, in fact, recording someone who has a reasonable expectation of privacy even if no sexual acts take place and you're just walking around in fleecey pajamas it is also a crime.

Its not necessarily illegal there are many factors and its perfectly legal to have a cctv system in a commercial or business premises. Distribution of recorded matter though is a different matter entirely.

Firstly if its a hidden camera the odds of seeing it are almost zero with modern cameras but if I spotted a camera I would immediately ask why it was there and what the intentions are.

Lol my OH used to fit covert cameras for a living.. lol I do find myself checking around new fittings periodically .

Actually joked about it when I came back from holidays as he had been rootling round in my room doing wiring jobs..;)

I think people should check if they go to strangers houses...which I have no intention of doing.. so many places to hide them and so tiny these days.

It would be good to get some tips from cinnamon and others on how to spot them. If you are in a darkened room, I am guessing that an infra red light may be a give away. Id get really angry, and respond naturally at the time, with little or no restraint. Many of us are fairly open about our lives, so do not live with the need to stay feeble and hidden. The police would be a good option. Possibly they could be reported for possible under age recording too, which may fuck them over. In general, I respect others and expect the same in return, but am no soft touch. A hotel meet may reduce the chances of such recording, so worth considering. Anyone ever had this happen?
