I like buying presents for people, but hate to get mundane things. I can't abide the 'here's a box of All Gold, because you are my aunt, now sod off till I see you next Christmas,' approach. It has to be something worth getting and different, or unexpected.

Just had my birthday this week. Meet with FWB (of nearly 2 years) this week also. He took me for Lunch at the Sky Bar in Manchester, then we spent the rest of the day and evening at the Midland Hotel in Morecambe.
