Interesting to say the least.

Well done him, shame he had to persevere so hard to get justice, but a good result. The offender should get plenty of action when he's inside - hope he goes down :D

I did something similar for an ex after she split up with an unsuitable boyfriend. She had loads of debt collectors and credit card companies hassling her as he'd taken out loans and credit using her address, and then defaulted.

I set up a honey trap profile on a dating site I knew he was on and got his mobile number. Gave it to my ex so she could pass it on to his creditors.

Just goes to show all those people who refuse to talk to someone not verified are deluding themselves.

There is an easier way to do these things, he could have just reported the profile and Admin check it out.

The person who's pics are nicked just prove it is them and Admin take the profile off.

Well verified is more difficult though. I've had no let downs from those with a number of recent veris.

What and not report this guttersnipe to the police for a criminal act?

Sure "Admin" or fabswingers wont suffer from the national papers printing the domain name.

The guy and his girlfriend whos pictures were used - (presumably face pics or he wouldnt have recognised her) deserve retribution for what he did.

So...send the admin of a swinging site a face pic of your girlfriend ( these are not swingers ) so he/she can decide wether or not her pics remain on the internet? Sorry but they have every right and did the right thing to notify the authorities and not a faceless admin who decides whether the pics stay or go

Sorry but was being sarcastic, but it's not the first time stories like this have made the media and it won't be the last. Splashing it all over media only gives the muppets out there ideas.

Wow

My post didn't say it shouldn't have been reported to the police.

It said there is an easier way to sort out someone using your pics and that is to report the profile and let the faceless Admins get rid of the profile so the womans pics were not on show for longer than needed.

If that is a bad thing then I am struggling to understand why.

It doesn't seem to mention the fact they were burgled and that is how he got the pics in the first place. Surely he id going down for that too.

Depends. If they couldn't find material evidence he burgled them then he wouldn't be prosecuted. He may have put her pics on the site but if they didn't find him with the actual physical evidence in his possession then they can't prove it. He could say he copied them from elsewhere.

I can see where youre coming from but if Admin had removed the picture before the police had become involved then there it would have made it very difficult if not impossible to prove the pictures were of the lady in question in the first place and removing the evidence may have made a conviction unlikely.

By going direct to the authorities the "crime scene" was left undisturbed so to speak, and the evidence clear to see.

If you read the article the police said they couldn't do anything for them so he made up a fake profile to catch the man. He must have then gone to the police with the evidence for the man to be convicted.

If he had reported it and Admin sorted it, then he would have still had the evidence to go to the police.

Admin work WITH the police in cases like this once the police contact them.
