Feeling dead chuffed with myself that i've been asked to take all my friends wedding photo's.

I'm not a pro or anywhere near the standard im just what you call 'click happy'.. i get everywhere n snap silly moments. Was really lovely to be asked as i took a lot of photo's at both her mum & dads wedding, and also her Aunty & Uncles wedding.

What were your experiences of Wedding photographers and the pictures afterwards?

I did it once for a friends wedding. They came out really well and didn't cost them anything. They were chuffed to bits.

We bought a load of those cheap disposable cameras and left them on the tables at our reception, inviting people to just use them up and leave them at the end of the night. It meant we had some brilliant spontaneous shots of friends and family having fun, to add to all the more formal stuff. Unfortunately it did also mean that we had a good few shots (thanks to the kids there who thought it was hilarious) of people in the toilets!

Don't favour one side of the family. Our wedding photographer was a friend of Ju's grandparents and all our photographs are of her side of the family. My nan is in one photo and that's the massive group one. On the other hand we have about twenty lovely photos of her grandparents.

It was my informal gift to the last 2 couples,, i take hundreds of pics and i enjoy it. Made my friends albums after the day so they have both the professional set to enjoy but also the silly mess around 'inbetween' type off shot. Basic editing and printed them off into an album and that was my gift. Nothing worse than having hundreds of pictures on a disc, if its in a physical albumn i find you look at them more.

Im so thrilled to be asked (id have taken pictures anyways) Just hope i dont cock up under pressure lol

There are only 20 people being invited to the wedding,, the evening do is huge though lol

luckily i know both sides of the family really well

Years ago friends of mine got married and were leaving straight away for their honeymoon, I got a shot, had taken my portable printer, printed it off put it in a frame and slipped it into their luggage. They were thrilled and they still have the photo on show

lush idea! joys of mobile phones too, that pretty much everyone will take their own pics and hopefully i could compile a collection of those and make a nice collage type thing

Thank you.. ive never really thought about specific shots before. Guess i'll have to organise a day eith my mate where we trawl the net looking at photo ideas of what she wants..

i can only try to re create some images. im just a point n click kinda girl

I prefer to get the off guard moments! For some reason they look better than the posed shots

Candid shots are definitely more natural - people are more relaxed whereas for poses people tend to tense up a touch... I love photography! X

I hate posed photo's. People smiling through gritted teeth.

Yeah you need to shot list to cover all the necessary shots that you think you need before the day.

Then just lurking to get those great candid and I think on a wedding day a mix of candids and posed would be good.

The best shots ever are the ones that are taken spontaneously.

I have never been asked to take official wedding photographs and neither would I, despite having undertaken several courses. I believe that on such a special day professionals should be used as this is something that can never be put right as it has to be correct on the day, You'd have to have specialist kit too to account for the brightness/dullness of the weather etc for outdoor shots.

I have however taken shots of my friend in her wedding dress after the event. She loves the countryside so I opted to take pics of her in a field full of cows, in her wedding dress and wellies. It was a sunny day, we took it early morning and as she knew the farmer he let us do it, though he thought we were complefely mental im sure

U can also download an app think it's called wedding pics or somethin like that and create an account. Then if u get the guests to sign into it all the pics they take on their phone go to the app

I have recently shot a wedding as a second shooter, it was my first. I really loved it, took some amazing shots, was even asked by some friends to shoot theirs too.

I am more of a candid photographer myself, but can do a little posed shots when needed.

Just practice and practice more
