As its 3am and insomnia has made the choice of staying with me tonight. I wonder what puts you to sleep at night

southend

I fortunately don't suffer from insomnia.

I see pillow and beds, head shuts down, go sleep.

However, I suffered from insomnia when I was younger, and a deep breathing relaxation technique worked for me.

What works best for you?

I normally just relax on my bed listening to some jazz, maybe a little lovers rock or just read a good book.

Titz Towers, North Notts

C up of Earl Grey and 30 minutes with two books. A good quality read and a light one.

I forgot:

Antihistamines

A book that isn't too interesting

Lying down, closing my eyes and saying over and over to myself " I must not sleep"

At the moment painkillers are keeping me asleep most of the day and night but normally if I do have problems sleeping it's due to what I've been drinking earlier. Caffeine affects me strongly so no coffee, tea or chocolate in the evening helps.

It takes me ages to sleep. Can't shut off my mind. Doesn't help having Tinnitus either.
