There is nearly always a smile on my face - sometimes brought on by others, often brought on by myself

I can think back and remember a few... some with just a happy, some with a kind of bitter sweet memory

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's usually something related to time with people I love and care about.

Today it was an e-mail from a friend who moved back to the USA 15 years ago with her memories of something we did 22 years ago.

Titz Towers, North Notts

Last week, when my friend's partner slammed the phone down on me after trying to bollock me for barricading their drive with wheelie bins.

I saw an old man attending to his (also elderly) dog today - neither as fit, neither as fast as they used to be and both "defined" in a way by the other and cheering each other up.

Well, that is what it looked and felt like and it made me smile. A melancholic kind of smile, I guess..nonetheless a smile.

Some messages are just too cryptic for me

Smile today? A youngster putting up an argument why he should stay up late and getting caught up in contradicting himself.

This thread made me smile, thank you.

Only an hour ago, I suddenly remembered how, when my Dad and I spoke on the phone (I spent all of my adult life many, many hundreds of miles away from him), we would often end up in fits of laughter, not able to breathe or talk for no reason whatsoever.

I'm glad we had that.
