Why do some men think that they have to mention stuff like "I love an older woman" or "mature women are my thing" in their mails to me? Do they think that I'll presume they hadn't noticed my decrepit age before they sent message! They must think its flattering or something to be referred to thus, goodness knows why. The really really irritating thing though and one guaranteed a biting response is when the men are in their forties and say they love older women to me, I'm 48 ffs, when I'm ninety well.....they'll probably be dead.

I'm going to start writing messages like "I am very interested in balding men" or " I just love men who have let themselves go" or even " the younger ugly man really makes me horny"

The point is though that they have messaged me so I assume that have looked at my profile, considered my assets and my age and have decided that its worth a try. There is no need for any justification, I'm not going to tell them off and point out the fifteen months age gap to them and ask if they're sure they can stand watching everything hit the floor when the bra comes off. You like someone and message them don't justify to them why your doing it unless you are actually justifying it to yourself

Always one isn't there, complains about lengthy forum posts then proceeds to add to it with a post of their own. The forums are for people to discuss issues, if none of us had issues because we just dealt with them by using the delete button then there would be no forums and I would have nothing to do on a boring Sunday morning.

You weren't expressing an alternative point of _iew, you weren't saying that it should be expected that messages will refer to my age. You were saying I shouldn't post about it. There are some forum posters who like to devalue someone's justifiable and often tongue-in-cheek rant. They come across as though they are taking the high ground whereas in the real world there are very few people who could do that in ANY context. This means their moral high ground is shaky and won't stay high for too long.

Okay my opinion and it amused me. so *raspberries*

I said what I do in response to mail I don't like. That's all. I didn't tell anyone what they should or shouldn't be doing.

My post is still up there in black and white. You can always go back and read what I actually wrote, instead of what you think you saw.

Semantics here but a _iew is how you feel about something, i.e. I _iew those mails as irritating. Writing a post about it is an action, not a _iew. I _iewed it as irritation therefore I acted on my _iews and chose to write a post about it. Wanting me to act differently isn't offering me an alternative _iewpoint, for example "I like those mails, they are always welcome to me" is a _iew alternative to mine. Suggesting I delete rather than post is suggesting an alternative action.

Perhaps humour is needed when addressed as mature?

I reply to the 'interested party'' im not mature, im wholly immature and also reckless and irresponsible, does this still suit?

The forums are chock full of threads of couples and females moaning about single males. As an open forum though, any of us can post a response, so we do.

Filter, delete, block and find your perfect swing partner by doing your own running. Granted you then have to work out what to say to guys so as not to have them create a ranting post about you on here but you might find what you are looking for.

And there's a myriad threads about using words like 'hun'' and whining about about using 'how are you?' One is offensive, the other is boring.

Starting to see the point?

Therefore I revert to my original point, if you have such a clear idea in mind of what constitutes your kind of person you go find him/them and don't leave the 20,000 blokes to be able to get on your tits on a daily basis.

I think most women (and anyone in general really) would simply prefer to be thought as attractive, due to a combination of factors that make them attractive, rather than simply because of one thing like their age/ethnicity etc. Sure, its fine to find those individual attributes appealing in a person, but I wouldn't ever be saying to a woman 'I'm meeting you because I like older women', rather 'It was your age that initially appealed to me, but I'm meeting you because you're intelligent, charming and good-looking, and just so happen to be an age that excites me too'.

The really really irritating thing though and one guaranteed a biting response is when the men are in their forties and say they love older women to me, I'm 48 ffs, when I'm ninety well.....they'll probably be dead.

I'm going to start writing messages like "I am very interested in balding men" or " I just love men who have let themselves go" or even " the younger ugly man really makes me horny" "

I can understand your frustration as we have had them but I wouldn't educate these folk by sending a message back or posting in the forum

I don't think it's a compliment at any age.

"Who starred in Fatal Attraction ? Was it Streep or Close ?"

Close was the bunny-boiler.

...Up on the Downs

"Why do some men think that they have to mention stuff like "I love an older woman" or "mature women are my thing" in their mails to me? "

Always trying to see the other party's perspective - you do hear a fair few women on here say 'I couldn't possibly meet someone that young, they'll be disappointed......' or somesuch. A LOT of women have low self-esteem.

So, the dear little chaps may just be trying to reassure you at the outset that they do really love the bodies of older women with all their little flaws, to make sure THEY don't get rejected out of hand.

Sometimes they also start with 'do you like younger men' despite veris which clearly show I do!! It might just be about THEIR insecurities, consider that before getting too irritated with them maybe.

"I'm going to start writing messages like "I am very interested in balding men" or " I just love men who have let themselves go" or even " the younger ugly man really makes me horny" "

Feel free to message me, I fit your criteria perfectly!

"I just delete mail I don't like. No screaming or lengthy forum rants or threats of physical violence. Just a quick click of a button and it's gone forever.

Always one isn't there, complains about lengthy forum posts then proceeds to add to it with a post of their own. The forums are for people to discuss issues, if none of us had issues because we just dealt with them by using the delete button then there would be no forums and I would have nothing to do on a boring Sunday morning.

Yes there's always one person on any forum post with a rational and politely expressed point of _iew which differs from that of the OP.

Last I checked, such posts were still allowed.

You weren't expressing an alternative point of _iew, you weren't saying that it should be expected that messages will refer to my age. You were saying I shouldn't post about it. So you were acting as quality control rather than offering an alternative _iewpoint. No one forced you to take part in this post, it isn't taking up valuable space that could be devoted to you interests.

The alternative point if _iew is ignore and delete instead of wanting to scream"

Yep that's how I read it too

OP you are still a younger woman to me, and I didn't so much let myself go as myself sort of escaped when I was distracted

"I get people saying they like older women to me

Jeeeeez I am 33

Makes me feel old

You're 33 and you get older woman messages

Who's sending you those? 18 year olds lol

Even like 28year olds send me them

FFs really lol"

At the grand old age of 29 I also get the 'I love older women' messages from men in their early 20s. Urgh!
