tomatoes

hertfordshire

my hubby is growing tomatoes spring onions and peppers I don't mind but he has them all in pots on my window sill in the living room it looks stupid would you allow this? not that I get a choice as I just get shut up

Also tomatoes shouildnt be kept in the fridge as when they are cold they have no flavour.

Well if he wants to I wouldn't stop him, but seems a long way for him to travel each day to water them!

For germination the correct temperature is important, possibly with some light. Near to a radiator may achieve this, but out of sight would be ideal. If a greenhouse is not heated, it will likely not have a stable warm temperature and would thus retard their germination. In a few weeks, more plants could be started in a greenhouse more easily, but they will crop later. A heated propagator would allow you to move them out of sight too. After the seeds sprout, they will still need warmth and light as well as pricking out, needing more pot space. I fear for your home!
