I once offered Nigel Benn a fight. We where on holiday in tenerife and he was training their for his second Chris Eubank fight. I asked for a picture nose to nose with him. His reply was I only do that for a million. (It was when they still used pesatas) and my quick thinking pulled a 100 coin out and it has 1 mill written on it. He laughed and said ok to the picture. It's now on the wall in our spare room. Me with a big cheesy grin and him looking like he is going to kill me. Any one else?

I gave Kevin Whately an acting suggestion on the set of New Tricks once which he promptly followed.

(not sure if it made it into the final edit though)

I talked to Alan Armstrong who is a really nice guy but Dennis Waterman hid in his trailer away from "the little people".

I don't list all of my 'friends', though I can count Sandra Bullock as a platonic encounter for a few hours. I've been fortunate to have a few Hollywood A listers as people - all of them down to earth - who I am proud to know. Sandra is fantastic, so never miss the chance to spend time with her - she has no attitude either.

bob dylan when he was making a film on the south wales coast. we were on a yts scheme planting trees at dunraven castle and we had to build a campfire for one of the scenes. the film crew gave me and my mates a tenner each for it. we got an early dart, so we went to the three golden cups pub in the village to buy beer with the money. as the landlord just finished pulling the pints, in walked Dylan. He payed for the beers out of his own pocket, bought us all food and loads more beers, whiskeys, played pool etc til all of a sudden it was closing time. the last bus left hours before leaving us stranded so he got us all in the limo and gave us a lift back to Bridgend .... top geezer .... but we couldn't understand a word of what he said lol
