The latest revelations in this terribly sad tragedy makes mw wonder what that poor family have been through. It seems that the Met have a lot to answer for and it makes me wonder if the police are side of good.

Im quietly fuming over this. Growing up I knew the world was envious of our legal system.

This has gone on for far too long, that poor family.

The truth HAS to come out now and people she be brought to justice. Well, obviously.

The legal system has its faults but its better than most. This is institutional racism aided and abetted by a corrupt police force.

There is its called police corruption. I feel quite sickened that a British police force would indulge in such disgraceful antics

Whilst you're bound to get a certain percentage of corrupt officers, it seems that they automatically close ranks to protect each other, to me this seems to suggest that it is quite widespread.

unfortunately in jobs like this you are only as good as your last fuck up. The good may outweigh the bad but its very easy for that to be overshadowed.

i do wonder if the truth will ever come out. The MacPherson report was supposed to be he end of it, but now this. I feel for the family, having it all bought back up through the media again and again.

Yes there is a law that has been broken multiple times, its called 'corruption of a public office' and it carries a maximum of life imprisonment but apparently that is not enough so we need a new offence of 'police corruption' according to the Home Secretary.

this sort of thing has been going on long before you were born .... in fact it's been going on long before i was born too, especially in the south wales police force....

here comes the rant....

since i left school i've lost count of how many people have been banged up due to fabricated evidence by them only to be released years later ..... the cardiff three (lynette white prostitute murder), the darvell brothers (swansea sex shop murder), eddie browning (the motorway murder), the newsagent murderer and two weeks ago alan charlton (the body in the carpet murder). alan charters case has been sent back for appeal not by his solicitors but by a high court judge from the criminal case review commission "because of serious concerns about the integrity of the police investigation". he's spent 23 years inside. in conection with the cardiff 3, witnesses from the trial have been jailed after being forced to commit perjury by the police while the officers responsible remain free and living off their fat pensions. the trail against the 8 officers involved was dropped when documents held on file by south wales police "disappeared". they have since re-appeared but somehow double jepordy seems to be preventing them from being taken back to court. Senior detectives in the re-inquiry were "disciplined" for making false statements then one is promoted to the Home Office policing standards division!!! you couldn't make this stuff up .... this proves that anyone who thinks that the re-introduction of capital punishment is justified obviously hasn't thought about the subject properly or is just plain mental.

This is a site for a lot of different individuals who have an interest in swinging in common. We each also have many other aspects and interests.

This is the lounge. It's a forum for the "other stuff". It's kept separate so anyone bothered by that can stick to the swinging related fora.

Personally I feel that when you look at what happened after Ian Tomlinson was effectively murdered by a Met Officer with plenty of previous for being a violent psyco then tthere is all the evidence you need to see just how wiilling and how capable the Met are at looking after their own.

Obviously in that issue they were/still are and for the Met that was a bit of an own goal which Theresa May has and will exploit in 'reforming' them..

my point in using plebgate as an example is about for some bent police it matters not what your status is if to fit you up suits..

i think with Hilsborough you have to look at several factors, the culture of the police at that time being high on any list..

also doing as one was told regardless which some officers at the time questioned and others left the force because of that reason..

dont for a second think im supporting the actions of what they did on the day and after, i come from Liverpool and had a brother and 2 cousins at the match but was in Germany with the forces..

having to wait till late that evening to find out they were safe, speaking to mum to try and reassure her during that time was not a good experience at all..

i worked alongside them on occasion for 22 yrs and met some complete muppets also have relatives in their job, but by and large the majority do what can be a difficult job well and to try and say they are all bad just does'nt contribute to the debate..

Stephen Lawrence was a law abiding young man brought up in the correct way with his whole life in front of him. The fact that we have people in society that would murder a young man because of the colour of his skin is appalling and to have the police take part in perverting the course of justice on an institutional scale is quite frankly scary. Other OPs have mentioned Hillsbourgh, Charles De Menaies Ian Tomlinson and to a lesser extent Plebgate all of which show Stephen Lawrence disgrace is a symptom of a sad society.

The police originally got the people involved... thanks to our favourite newspaper, The Daily Mail, it has regularly keept the case in the publuc eye and helped in getting a conviction on some of the original gang involved...

You say 'the culture of the police at the time', referring to Hillsborough, but most never left the force but still never came forward in 25 years!!!

From what I've seen on tv, protest marches, Levison ect, things haven't changed at all.

They just don't seem to understand that they're public servants, totally oblivious to it, it seems!!

Some of the officers involved in things like Hillsborough all those years ago are now the senior officers.

Around the time of the Ian Tomlinson there were protests in London, possibly G8, where the officers involved in the kettling of protestors were filmed without there ID epaulettes, which is a requirement of their uniform. I seem to remember one girl desperate to use a toilet being battered with a truncheon for trying to get to one. He was identified but no action was taken.

Due to the nature of their employment the police need to be squeaky clean and need to be seen to come down hard on the officers that are found to be acting illegally, not the other way around. Until they do this rather than covering up for each other then they are going to be losing confidence of the people they need the support of to do their job effectively.

Where do you draw the line when it comes to undercover work?

Quite frankly I couldn't give a shit if a copper shags someone to get inside information.... especially if it closes down a human trafficking ring, saves underage girls who have been forced into the sex trade or finds active peados.
