Def Air Canada out of those 2. I dont like any of the US airlines.

Having said that Im going with United next week just because they had better connection times.

Travelled with united airlines many time good airline. Very friendly staff.

Worst Q8 airlines. Avoid at all costs.

BA have never let us down.

Virgin are good.

Delta are not so good but ok.

United are alright, nothing special.

I just go with the attitude that they are just ferrying me to my destination. All I want from them is punctuality and most deliver this. I always bring my own food and entertainment. If the airline provide some then it's a bonus.

I've used a few. Continental was fun and friendly, but quite basic. United was most recent, and considering I went economy was quite good. Delta were poor really. Virgin was not that great, food was rubbish. AER Lingus is cool, as you stop in Shannon to do the immigration. The worst part of flying to the US is immigration and Shannon is brilliant.

The best I have been on was American... but I was upgraded to First Class

I always travel with Virgin to the states. I cannot fault their service and if you pay the small fee to access the V-lounge you'll get on the plane nice and relaxed (so will any children travelling with you). I will also mention that upgrading to premium is worth it for the extra leg room alone...

BA are still pretty good as are Virgin. Not a great fan of any of the US carriers within the states. They're all now into budget service so with people like Continental/United, the friendly skies are now all you get and not that friendly! Hold baggage, catering and entertainment are increasingly ad-ons which is a tad cheeky if for example you're flying for 4 or 5 hours from say mid-west to south west.

My advice is get as close as you can to your destination using a major European carrier and use the spoke and hub system this side of the pond with say KLM or Aer Lingus if not a UK carrier, rather than flying to the US and enduring the joke that isHomeland Security before the getting in another US airline.

Virgin America is fantastic. They have a limited network as fairly new, but can get good deals. Allocated seating, comfortable and good service. Vegas, new york, boston, philadelphia, san diego, LA, dallas amongst their cities. South west airlines is cheap, similar to easy jet and good coverage. Many of the airlines have tie ups with uk airlines for frequent fliers, to get free flights and upgrades too. Generally book in advance for cheapest tickets unless there is a promo on.

if it is american carriers then American Airlines and United I haven't had issues with...

Continental are okay.. and delta i only fly with as a last resort....

Dont fly with American Airlines! ! Terrible. ..cramped, no duty free, plane rickety and tatty, couldnt buy extra drinks/ food onboard and no movie on an 8 hour flight arghhhhh. Never again!

Further to my last post, which was for internal US flights. Hue flown BA and Virgin Atlantic, and much prefer BA. I am not a big Delta fan, which I did once.

I'm a sucker for frequent flier clubs, so earning miles for free flights is important, as are the upgrades and airport lounge access. Being able to have a spa treatment before flying, as well as massage etc, is a lovely perk. Once you've flown first class long haul it's difficult to go back to not being upgraded etc.

There is a good price atm, for Florida -

it's soon: 23/4/14 and returning on the 5/5/14, so 12 days, only £278.98 pp. This is without checked baggage, and with Thomson airways, from Newcastle to Sanford, which is Orlando, I believe.

Less than £300 return to Florida is pretty good, imo!!! Could always split a checked luggage cost, if traveling with another, as it would bump price up. Or go into the warm, wear little and travel light!

Hope this works for the op or someone else. Get it via the Thomson site.
