loss and adapting to the new status quo.

Who has had an experience relating to this?

Could be about loosing something... anything really and how this affects you.

What kind of emotions do you/ did you go through and when/ how did you know you were getting better?

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I use Kubler-Ross in change management work I do, both the change curve and the five stages of grief.

Personally, I can find I get stuck on one stage and think that is the new status quo until I accept that there is more work I need to do.

Central

I find that I mainly benefit from being personally tolerant, patient and expecting things not to be linear. As such, I usually go at my own pace, take breathers, and like to have the time and energy to be self aware, both of my own emotional state, but also what I need. My emotions do vary after losses, and often something like anger may be a little internalised, as a projection, or else projected into a very different area of my life. Such as getting more impatient with other life challenges etc. Having some recognition of what I may be going through, acceptance that things may not be easy, for an unspecified length of time though whilst keeping my awareness on how and what Im feeling is something that I can find exciting and yet with emotions that can seem tedious to experience in protracted duration. It is part of life, our desire to be connected to things within it and their inevitable change and some loss. Seeking some support when things seem tough is also healthy and I do find it, and use it, as much as I can too.

Personally, my life has given me a vast experience of regular change and now I accept a lack of status quo as, almost, a norm. In the last four years I have changed my marital status, home, and survived two management buy outs, and five rounds of redundancies...

I do not, to my knowledge encounter any negative issues, or stages...

I am where I am, and move forward from this point...

I don't like change, but I'm used to it.

Unless of course I'm in a constant state of denial...

Or you go through your stages quickly. You can do them all in five minutes.

I like the Change Management house model.

I'm analytical, so I dwell on things after the time to try and learn my lessons from my success and failings.

I'm quite logical and don't let emotion rule me. Loss/change happens.

How many vowels do you recognise? Is this a change I need to plan to manage?

I was on the numbers... But... You may need to manage, 5 vowels, 2 occasional vowels and up to 20 vowel sounds, before you start on dipthongs and regional accents.... In English alone....

Whilst Elegant Excrament is considered to be one's eternal essence, the reference was to one of the words in the English language which contains the five principal vowels, in alphabetical order...

If one we're to include the regularly adopted letter Y as a sixth vowel, One could expand the premis to include Faseriously...

OP, this has been doing the rounds on TwitTwat today and it reminded me of this thread. It's a picture that says

As I look back on my life, I realise that every time I thought I was being rejected from something good, I was actually being re-directed to something better.

I like it - a positive stance towards something that is simply a change and in many cases we can choose to be happy.

Thanks for that

I believe that with your intelligence and sense of reasoning that you have the personal qualities to adapt to any changes that may happen within your professional and personal life to overcome situations like this and put it down to life experience
