love it or hate it?

i'm in both camps i think as i dont like how the kennel club encourage breeding deformities into breeds but on the other hand i would love a French bulldog or English Bull Terrier (thats the Bill Sykes dog right?) so would be hypocritical of me to be so against it.

I havent been following developments in breeding, but I thought they were introducing different breed standards due to the attention some Alsations were getting.

I think it's the 'fit for work' campaign

Central

I hate crufts - it ruins traffic around here - motorways snarled. Spare a thought for us locals.

i used to live by silverstone so know the trauma of traffic jams caused by events but if you choose to live there its a cross you must bare

Ive just been happy with all my rescue dogs (some now sadly passed away).Im not a fan of dog shows unless they are the fun variety and raise money for Charity.Ive bought my dogs to give them lots of love not to force them to ponce around arenas!

Yes that's the Bill Sykes one. My friend has one & he's a lovely dog.

I am in both camps too.

My spaniels breeder takes it all very seriously and as she is the show type of springer rather than the field, it was important to him that she had show champions in her parentage.

I'm not against it, I paid the money for her so am encouraging it, but I do find it slightly cold hearted. I personally couldn't do it.

I am going to Crufts on Sunday as its gundog day. I'm looking forward to shopping for my pup

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I enjoy the agility competitions - the dogs look so happy. I don't like the showing, beauty pageant bit.

I watched some of the agility competition last year, they had about half a dozen Staffies doing the course, had the audience in fits, they were so excited most of them missed half of the obstacles

A park I walk mine in has made sculptures out of fallen trees, I can get him up and over them but have never tried a proper course with him. Great dogs but not the birightest…

Glasgow

V anti crufts. RSPCA want them to change their ways majorly, think what says it all is one of the judges got done for neglect of their own dogs...why is he still a judge? I'm a huge john barrowman fan but have put a comment on his fb page saying he shouldn't be supporting it. The in breeding, the inappropriate values it encourages, using dogs to entertain humans n make a lot of money, encouraging fads of certain breeds/cross breeds being popular and bred n then loads end up abandoned when they go out of fashion/start having medical issues due to the breeding which owners won't pay for...

WRONG WRONG WRONG

What utter rubbish!! Very bright dogs just not one jot of common sense Mine can open the back door (pull down handle) but cant open it the other way for some reason. Thats a problem when it is raining

Gravesend

i dont like seeing the breathing problems squished up faces or the back problems elongated stances or the eye problems that the exaggerated breed standards produce .. seems to condemn a dog to a life of suffering

I like the agility and the flyball. They also had a display by West Midlands Police Dogs, which is always interesting to watch.

I also enjoyed the Discover Dogs section which had loads of breeds of dogs, amazingly all were well behaved considering the amount of dogs there.
