All in all it hasn't been that bad this year. OK it was the wettest winter since records began, but it was the 5th warmest as well.

"The UK average mean temperature for the winter so far is 5.2 degrees Celsius, making it the fifth warmest winter since the national series records began in 1910. It is the warmest since 2007, which was 5.6 degrees Celsius; the record was set in 1989, which averaged 5.8 degrees Celsius"

Today is the first day of spring in meteorological terms isn't it but I wonder if we might get the coldest spring for years.

Brighton - even Hove!

It's a lovely sunny day here, daffodils and crocus are out plus snowdrops, saw a buttlerfly and a bee in the garden this morning. Bit nippy at 7 degrees but bright and cheerful.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

It's been pretty good weather in York so far but I can't help but feel sorry for all the people who have had a really shit Winter, Xmas and New Year.

Been thinking of going to York with a friend, not to stalk you, but holding off for better weather. Used to love the park with the squirrels.

I've noticed the changes over the last few years, moreso when I started my photography..certain plants and animals I wouldnt have normally seen at the wrong time of year etc etc

cant say its global warming or just natural....the world never stays static anyway..people just dont realize that

For the second time this morning I find myself agreeing with you .

The world has gone through many periods of climate change.
