Parents lost their freedom the day they gave birth to us...cared for us loved us made sure we were safe and had a roof over our head for many years...it's about doing the same in return when parents are no longer able to cope

It's a huge decision for you to make and trying to resolve the situation with the stairs etc...have a chat with older people services as some part fund stair lifts if a elderly person needs to move in with someone and can't manage the stairs

Didn't fancy being in main house. So workers cottage on farm for me. No rent or mortgage is a bonus

indian people look after their parents i seen it on telly, they all live together help each other out, they dont think anything of it, seems like a good idea.

My father is partially disabled so if my mum is the first to go one of us children will probably have to have him. He's fiercely independent so he wouldn't like it but he wouldn't be able to cope on his own. Hopefully we won't have to worry about it for a while yet.

Totally agree with you on this one.

My mum had a stroke 4years ago and is totally dependant on me hence why she lives with me now
