Nothing to see here. Please move along.

Today I found out from a party rep who asked the big bosses that a certain ladies party plan company regarding TV/TS as their chosen gender. As long as all members of the event are dressed accordingly then it is open to more than just natural born females.

This doesnt mean men can get dressed in a skirt just to go along, but for genuine people. Not all planners will be ok with this stance but there are some that do. My friend definately does.

I think this is a great step along the road to accpetance.

Somewhere in North Norfolk

Not wishing to cause a row here but TSs are born their gender, they merely choose to live that way and, sometimes transition fully with surgery.

TVs don't wish to change gender and continue to identify as male. Female isn't their chosen gender either.

And that's without the argument between sex and gender.

That said, I think it's a good thing Trans ladies will be allowed at parties.

"

TV/ts is a gender?"

It absolutely is. There are many genders, not just male and female. Facebook now has up to 50 gender types for people to choose from.

On here it is. Male, female or TV/TS.

Bit daft.

I do apologies for my poor wording but the sentiment behind the post is just one of joy that a major company has brought down a barrier to inclusion

Although I doubt faceberk lumps TV and TS together. They are rather distinct.

It is illegal to discriminate in the provision of goods and services based upon gender, except in very rare circumstances, or exempted by law. It is a good thing that this company has caught up with the 21st century. My gender is my choice, and I would pursue legal channels should anyone stand in my way.

Discrimination for a start! an awful lot of trans people live in stealth in their preferred gender. Anyone with access to their birth certificate can identify their birth gender.

I assume you mean married? in which case I think you would have a right to know your partners history, it comes down to trust in any relationship. If you can't be honest with your partner the relationship is doomed anyway.

However there are many ways trans people can be discriminated against. Just think about it.

Because who you are and your gender is more than just the body you are born in.

Transsexual people are born in the wrong body. Why should they not be able to live as who they are?

It was made quite clear that anyone objecting would be discriminating the same as in the bad old days of segrigation due to colour. To be honest there were a few older women who got very upset when this came up but on the whole no one wad really bothered.

It's not a company couse it's a government one all employers must at some point run it, the attitude was any form of discrimination is unacceptable, there is no grading it's all the same it's all bad.

Not someone who dresses as a woman on a whim, someone who is transgendering - although both might wear pretty frocks there is a subtle difference.

Unfortunately under the dignity at work guidelines that would be classed as discrimination, I'm not saying I agree with it as many who did the course with me suggested the same thing, also offering disabled facilities wouldn't be allowed either.

That's not strictly true. The employer is required to provide facilities in a nondiscriminatory way taking reasonable care. The definition of reasonable will be different for each employer depending on the size of the staff team, the costs etc. Lots of the places I work have mixed use facilities with men, women and transgendered all together.

As to another post about birth certificates, there are some people born intersex. A choice is made for them but it may not be the choice they will choose later.

Obviously a controversial subject here, but my opinion is to let whoever be/dress/act how they wish to live their lives. So long as they are not hurting anyone. If people do not like how others live their lives then they should maybe keep up with modern times, things change and the world is changing everyday.

It's your life and you're here for a VERY short time live it how you want and be proud!

Funnyi, we are only getting this anxiety about others possibly using women's loos from a guy. Yet it is the gents where cocks are out on display, and in the ladies all is behind closed doors. What is he worried about, that we will hear the gossip about throwbacks, or what a short straw someone must have drawn, and we are glad we are not the wife etc. Just get it, someone who has assumed male gender can use the guys loo, and vice versa. It is not hard to fathom. Most of us are accepting of others, despite differences. Some of us recognise where our attitudes are poor, and reconsider them. Most animals died before they became fossils, so dont buck the trend.

I've gone into clubs and pubs that weren't transgender venues and used the ladies loo while dressed and you know what only once had a problem and that was from a bloke. Women don't give a shit and often will have a natter while we're all touching up our make up.

If someone identifies with being a woman more then a man and wishes to change why shouldn't they be allowed to change their birth cert. Having to show a passport every time you go abroad thats in your male name that you've probably already changed from?

"I've gone into clubs and pubs that weren't transgender venues and used the ladies loo while dressed and you know what only once had a problem and that was from a bloke. Women don't give a shit and often will have a natter while we're all touching up our make up.

If someone identifies with being a woman more then a man and wishes to change why shouldn't they be allowed to change their birth cert. Having to show a passport every time you go abroad thats in your male name that you've probably already changed from?

"

are you full Trans gender ?

Absolutely. As long as someone is behaving appropriately and not being creepy or weird then I don't care if they use the ladies loo. If a man en bloke did so, I might think it strange, unless they had a young daughter with them, but I don't see why I'd object.

I took issue once with a cd who was notorious for creepy behaviour when he handcuffed himself to a cubicle inside the ladies toilets at a kink venue. I can't think of any other problems ever.

When there's been a queue I've been known to use the gents, so fair's fair!

No I wanted to be but couldn't take the number of bigots out there who wouldn't leave me to do normal things like go shopping without stopping, staring and making stupid comments but then again I am 6'5 without heels and wouldn't say I was convincing.

TG is TG as far as I am concerned. There's no full or half. Sure there's full-time and part-time but neither makes you any more or less TG.

That TG encompasses TS and TV seems to be causing some issues.

As does trolling and a total lack of desire or intention to understand being demonstrated by some.

The idea that there is binary gender difference is actually a philosophical concept not a biological fact. There's a far higher incidence of trans sex and or hermaphrodites born than people realise. Also many people who identify as a gender different to what is their outward physical gender are found to be genetically the gender they identify with.

The birth certificate issue is more to do with antiquated laws (the law takes forever to catch up with real life) than any 'fact'.

As for the loo situation, I've never come across a woman who'd have an issue with anyone using the 'ladies' loos, as someone said all cubicles are private anyway.

The gents might be a tad more difficult for those not yet fully outwardly physically male during their transition but if discrimination laws are enforced properly this hopefully will become less of a problem.

Ultimately, live and let live.

"I I have no problem with Trans genders but changing birth certs is changing history! you are born make or female and that is what should stay on the certificate of your birth

unless you can come up with a reason as to why not ? "

You can legally change your name, so the birth certificate is already changeable.
