Im after getting a car it will be on finance as im not loaded lol.

I have been told the car has to be a group 16 or less

If im excepted for the finance why should it matter ?

Insurance is based on the insurance group. The higher the group the more it will cost.

You can't afford it.

Haha ok I aint loaded but I aint skint either.

the car I was looking at is a groupe 29 insurance rating.

Insurance for 12 months I have been quoted is less than £600

That aint bad trust me thats affordable.

I thought insurance rating only went to group 20, unless it's changed?

Can't see why it matters ever or what business it is of the finance company other than it has to be insured obviously. Think id go elsewhere for credit myself an don't forget no matter how nice a car it maybe theres always anther 1

I worked as a dreaded car salesman. I would double check if they are on about the old groupings (1-20) or the new ones (1-50) when they have said you can only get up to a group 16.

The only reason I can think of is that the car will lose value quickly and more chance of it being wrote off meaning there would be a short fall on the insured price and the price that is financed. Could always ask them if you took out GAP insurance could you get finance on a higher group car.

I know some finance company's will only finance a car if they have gap insurance as we'll depending on people's age.

It has a lot to do with the finance company as they are the one who owns the car really as they have paid for it.

Yeah not long after I had posted on the forum I had an email from the guy dealing with my finance it basically goes on to say the system was in error and that group would be allowed

so not all bad best news id had all day.

Thanks for your reply
