Ok .... So I've done something I never thought I'd do on here and I've met somebody and we've both agreed that we want more than sex (yay!). He's 40 and I'm 26 ... I've always set my higher age range on here as 43 (because sex is sex). But now that we are borderline relationship .... What are everyone's opinions on the age gap? Personally it doesn't bother me, but I know a few friends etc will have a lot to say!

And before the trolls show up ... I am well aware that this isn't a dating site

Firstly congratulations. I would say, does it really matter what anyone else thinks? It's your life. Do what makes you happy and stuff anyone that has a problem with it. People will only know the age gap if you make a big deal about it.

If you are happy then go with it. You're 26 so youve done a lot of your growing and 14 years is nothing.

When you find true love...grab it and embrace it! If its meant to be, nothing else matters.

All the comments about dying young etc.....NO ONE knows what will happen TOMORROW! So why waste the precious time you have together now, worrying about what might or might not happen???

You have just met and embarking on a journey that might work out or might not.....just like any relationship! Its a bit premature for people to start thinking of what will happen in old age!

I wish you both a lot of love and happiness and with a sprinkling of magic fairy dust, who knows? You might have a wonderful future ahead! And even if you don't, you will have some happy wonderful memories. Lots of luck! Enjoy this time!!

Hahah no not at all! It's just something that hung around from school days I think for 'socially acceptable' age gaps (please note the "air finger quotations" around this!) Tbh I've never had to test it....but if you think about it works....14 year old with 14 year old and then age gaps increasing as you get older!

jusr remember, when you turn 40 and want your life to start again because you get that second wind, lol, he will have already had his midlife crisis and want to slow it down.

is ti right or wrong?

thats nobody elses problem than your own, just enjoy being in love while it lasts.

the post about friends telling you your wrong then being there to support you is about right.

just enjoy it.

not everyone can find a feeling that closely represents love, and if you have, then who cares what others think.
