"Don't we just love to see prolonged excellence fail. United's contribution to seeing the Premier League become the most watched, has been immense. Yet our sporting culture can't wait to see them crash and burn. Say's a lot about us as a sporting nation" Man Utd fans were more than happy to see an end to the Liverpool run of good form that preceded their run with Fergie though, that's sport. "the beautiful thing about football is you don't have to come from a particular city yo follow any particular team" Passion is key to this debate. There are folk all around the world who have never been to Old Trafford & never will. That's just a marketing thing, ie "The Brand" that is Man Utd No team can be invincible endlessly. Liverpool were kings in their day but then again so were Derby & Leeds Utd in the early 70's Let the good times roll

Let's face it. they are past their "sell by date" and have to build a new squad otherwise mid table is the best that they can hope for.

I believe so, that ST holders must buy all cup tickets. Tbf the club website has section whereby unwanted tickets can be sold on at FACE value. Quite how they can bar ST holders from attending a subsequent league match remains to be seen, even if it's in the T & C's it seems an unfair clause. When all is said and done, by buying a ST you've contracted for and paid for all league games.

All Season Ticket holders have to buy every Champs League and FA cup tie at Old Trafford, but can opt out of Capital One Cup games, if you do opt out though you are unable to apply for away tickets for League games and any away cup games including semi finals and finals!! The email you are talking about is sent out to anyone whose automated payment for Olympiakos has failed, warning them that if they don't make payment prior to that game that their season ticket will be suspended for any future League games until they pay the outstanding amount. One plus of the current failings on the pitch is that the club may have to rethink this policy as finding 73,000 home supporters every week to watch the dross they are producing may start to prove a challenge

"Who cares! As a pair of Salford blues we find it hilarious. You've had 6 months of shit and the majority are crying like bitches, try 34yrs of it and then you may have some kind of complaint. " Manc born and bred very proud of where I come from and the success United have given to Manchester over the last twenty years. Sadly there comes a time when some drastic changes need to be made as this is business. However Manchester United possess something that Chelsea, Ciddy and other benefactor centric team will never ever surpass and that is...............well if I knew I would bottle it. United will be the discussion topic forever and a day because of they and what the have come to represent. The day trippers will be maligned as "not being from Mancunia" and Roy Keane will try to keep his infantile feud alive will outrageous statements but one thing that will never change is the sprit of a great institution. Be prepared for a few years of mediocrity whilst they re group and repair but they will return stronger and better as only Manchester United can do and for those who pulled on the red jersey on Tuesday they should donate their salary to the Friends of the flowers on Manchester as those who lost their lives on February 6th 1958 would have never have surrendered quite so easily. "Went to my first game as a kid at Old Trafford in 1967 and have stuck with them through some very good and also some very bad times. From European champions to relegation in six seasons was probably the worse spell I can think of, but we bounced back and picked up a few FA cups on the way so the 70's and 80's wasn't all doom and gloom. Then there was the Fergie years and yes we all enjoyed the glory and I suppose we did pick up a few "plastic fans" on the way. However, remember that Old Trafford was nearly always full with a capacity of 60,000 in the days of terraces so there are quite a few of us who have been around for a while. What has gone wrong since last summer? A very big question with more than one answer. I would say that the first big mistake was on day one of Moyes tenure in the job. He should never have been allowed to get rid of Mike Phelan. Mistake No.2 was the slow motion train wreck that was Utd's dealings (or lack of) in the summer transfer window. There were a few players who should have been shown the door and the Glazers should have dug deep to sign 3 or 4 top quality players, but all we got was a last minute panic buy, paying well over the odds for a pretty ordinary midfielder with a dodgy barnet, and in the January window picked up one decent player. For this debacle I put the blame squarely on the shoulders of Ed Woodward, who has absolutely no idea about running a top flight football club. There also seems to be something not quite right in the dressing room, it's obvious that RVP isn't happy, and I think Rooney would have gone at the end of the season if the club hadn't paid him a lottery win salary in his new contract. Giggs, Vidic and Ferdinand will go at the end of the season and there are a few that need to go with them. Cleverley, Young, Smalling, and Evans should all go and maybe Valencia and Wellbeck. Moyes also needs to find a system where Rooney and Kagawa can play in the same team. Kagawa was superb at Dortmund and he hasn't become a crap player overnight, but he needs a run in the team playing in his best position. This season has to be a write off, Europa league qualification will be an achievement, Champions league, not a hope, and if (and it's now a very big IF) Moyes doesn't get the chop there will be a lot of rebuilding to do in the summer. I would just add that last nights performance in Greece was the worst European performance that I can remember." You say 'very bad times' but I honestly don't think fans of clubs like manchester united know what bad times are. Most football fans support a club who will never win a major trophy, and will probably never play top flight football- come and join us down in the 4th division if you want to know how bad it can get ! (And I daresay there are non league fans who can only dream of being 4th division!)

"Manyoo and its faceless corporates drag out the old nutshell yet again on the anniversary of the Munich air disaster, Facebook inundated with tributes blah blah blah. Well this is where I stand. Top respect to the footballers and staff who tragically lost their lives that night, and it should be remembered for all the right reasons. But that ferking club makes me puke at the way the pariahs have milked the tragedy for all its worth year upon year. Even stooping as low as when the club raised a banner at Old Trafford the other year to commemorate the Munich Air Disaster. And the supporter's association asked them to remove their sponsor's logo. They turned down the request. As a result the banner was vandalised in the night and painted over. The poor survivors were left skint and bereft of any charity from the club, some were even asked to leave their rented homes. It wasn't until 1998 that the club staged a benefit match for the survivors of Munich. After expenses each of the living survivors, or their immediate families, received 47,000 pounds. I loved Cantona until he defected to scum but even he made a few quid out of the tragedy by demanding 90,555 pounds for travel and miscellaneous expenses. And flew over for the benefit match in a private jet and stayed in the best hotel. why the ferk didn't manyoo dip into their own coffers. It was nearly a full house and I'm sure the merchandise, pies, beer and all the money that never went into the fund could have paid for him greedy mercenary cnut. Manyoo were an average club before the tragedy, they milked the sympathy of a nation and the world, many took up supporting them out of sympathy of the tragedy hence why they have been elevated to a club the size they are now. Just for once let it be, say nowt, get the survivors and their families together for a private memorial, see them alright and give them a few bob out of the millions you've made by becoming one of the biggest clubs, surely its owed to those who helped make it what it is today. Some home truths. BillY Foulkes lives with the Munich air disaster every day of his life in his modest flat just a short drive from Old Trafford. But it's not simply the memory of the terrible crash he walked away from so many years ago that still haunts him. It's more the reality that every morning he has woken since February 6th, 1958 he's had a bonus that eight of his team-mates never lived to enjoy. That's why Foulkes is filled with sadness and disbelief today at an official book being written to mark the 40th anniversary of the tragedy that stunned world football. It's a book that will no doubt have the cash tills ringing in Manchester United's MegaStore souvenir shop and so satisfy the club's cash-crazy PLC board when it is published next year. Greedy cnuts For those who survived that terrible night, the treatment they received from the club left a bad taste. Mary Hannigan reports. Their deaths in Munich immortalised the names of Liam "Billy" Whelan, Duncan Edwards, Roger Byrne, Tommy Taylor, Eddie Colman, Geoff Bent, Mark Jones and David Pegg, the eight Manchester United players who died in February 1958, seven of them instantly, the eighth, Edwards, 15 days later from his injuries. And for some their bitterness towards the club for the lack of support or recognition they received merely added to their pain. Harry Gregg, the Northern Ireland goalkeeper, was heroic in the aftermath of the crash, climbing back in to the burning wreckage of the plane to drag team-mates Bobby Charlton and Dennis Viollet clear of danger, . To this day, though, Gregg remains deeply ill at ease with his portrayal as a hero, admitting that he has suffered from "survivor's guilt" ever since. "I couldn't face meeting Joy Byrne, Roger's widow, Geoffrey Bent's wife, Marion, David Pegg's family and many others. I couldn't look those people in the eye knowing I'd lived when their loved ones had perished." Blanchflower, a close friend of Gregg since the days they played for Northern Ireland schoolboys, survived, but never played football again. "I've never got over it," he said in an interview with the Irish News before his death in 1998. "It was around eight or nine months after the crash when they told me I couldn't play again. I went to see a specialist in London who told me to pack it in. It was shattering - I can't really describe it any better." At the time Blanchflower lived in a house owned by the club. Once it was determined that he would not play again he was asked to vacate it. "It was made pretty clear we had to leave," his wife Jean told the London Independent eight years ago, "they were very cold, very harsh, after the crash." "I didn't get any counselling," said Blanchflower, "and ironically, when I was 54 and looking for a job, I applied for a job as a counsellor but they told me I had no experience or university training. That just made me more sceptical than ever. "I'd not made any plans and then there I was left on my own in the big, ugly world," he said. "I'd been cocooned playing football and then all of a sudden it was gone." United director Louis Edwards offered Blanchflower a labouring job in his meat packaging factory. Blanchflower declined the offer and attempted to earn a living from a number of jobs over the years, briefly owning a newspaper shop, working for a bookie, then getting a job in a pub, before "going to school and becoming a finance officer". He ended his days as an after-dinner speaker. Like Blanchflower, Johnny Berry never played again, having suffered a fractured skull, broken pelvis and broken jaw, that necessitated the removal of all his teeth, so seriously injured he received the last rites in the Munich hospital. He received his end-of-employment notice from the club by post. He, his wife and eight-month-old son were asked to vacate their United-owned home. He died in 1994. United goalkeeper Ray Wood, who died in 2002, was another survivor of the crash. In 1998 he and the eight other players who survived Munich were invited by Uefa to that year's European Cup final in the German city. "I had tears in my eyes," he said, "this was recognition, after 40 years, which we never had in all that time from United." Albert Scanlon, who fractured his skull in the crash, resulting in the scrapping of his previously agreed transfer to Arsenal, was equally bitter. "The only compensation we received was a few hundred pounds from BEA (the airline). The club did pay our wages while we were injured, but apart from that they gave us nothing. Nowadays, I even have to pay, just like anybody else, to watch United play." When he was discharged, on crutches, from the hospital in Munich, Scanlon returned to Britain, understanding that the taxi he used in the following weeks was being paid for by the club. Club secretary Les Olive, however, advised him to stop using the taxi, informing him that the club wasn't, in fact, footing the bill. "We feel that we helped to build Manchester United," said Wood. "They received massive international support following the disaster but they didn't treat people properly then, did nothing for us all those years, and they're still making money out of it directly now." Hang yer ferking heads in shame Man Yoo " Well the response could be wordy and long but I think the rant above is not really worth it. For the likes of me and those who grew up in the post Munich era they will be forever the flowers of Manchester as that is where I stand.

" Manchester United possess something that Chelsea, Ciddy and other benefactor centric team will never ever surpass and that is...............well if I knew I would bottle it. That'll be the putrid stench of arrogance. " Arrogance can be very alluring especially after dominating British football for over two decades. I would call it class in any event. It will get to Derby one day, just hang on in there!

Used to get there a lot back in the day when I lived there. Now I see them maybe 6 games a season if I'm lucky. Have supported them all my life, through good times, bad times and even worse times.

"Fergie knew when to get out. Moyes has an unenviable task of rebuilding, with not alot of back up from the glazers. Anyway, there's only one united. X" Not quite true. There are 11 other United's in the Football league. Newcastle,West Ham,Posh,Rovrum,Blunts,Colchester,Carlisle,Scunthorpe,Sarfend,Hartlepoole & of course, the team that came over & beat you in the FA Cup on 3rd January 2010 (Beckford 19 minutes) the mighty Leeds United!

" For the record I'm far from being a Man.U fan. However, 26 years of reign isn't going to be easy to replicate, It would be like trying to replicate the successes of Ghengis Khan. Ferguson was a master strategist and he took that book with him. I don't think Moyes will get the chance to repeat what Ferguson did and it's tough to say what he'll do next.
