Do winks actually work? I mean does females or couple take any notice of them.

If I see somebody of interest and don't have time to message I wink them, sometimes you get a reply sometimes not, but I've had some meets that originated from a cheeky wink

I dont think they do purely because they get so many. Ladies and couple prefer messages as its more personnal that way.

I take a wink as an action of interest. I guess it's personal preference really.

I wink guys I am interested in and leave it to them to show interest back once they have read my profile

We get a fair few, but often they don't match what we are looking for, so we wouldn't bother responding unless its followed up with a message!

Sorry we dont pay any attention to them.

I will have a quick look but I'm the male and it's mostly men that send them, they just dont tickle my fancy

If I'm sharing her with a fella, I want him to be able to chat/laugh with us both, not just give me a wink over her backside

She is the first to say we all have to have banter and get on, otherwise she can go into her toybox

You can see who has sent them even if you are not a site supporter. My best friends aren't site supporters and they check their winks and have had a few meets of the back of them.

I don't check my winks. I currently have about 250 sat there. I'll go in and bulk delete at some point.

When I get winked, more often than not it's someone from the other side of another country so I just ignore. Local men will usually message.

Always have a look at the winkers (snigger) and wink back if interested.

Some folk seem offended at winks but I've always assumed them to be a stealthy hello and sign of interest.

Yes winks work for some. I've met many lovely people that started as a wink. If people are that easily offended/annoyed by a wink then I wouldn't be interested in meeting them.

I like to wink in the internet and IRL.

I find it useful to tell people that I like them when I can't be arsed to speak to them.

As an aside if you become a Platinum Site Supporter you are not restricted one wink a month. Sometimes I can wink at a person thousands of times a day!

I don't mind winks so much, like them even more if they're followed up with a message

If some winks at us and we like what we see, I'll often wink back letting them know the "ball" is now in "their court"

No harm in a wink for the most part

When we get winks I look at the profile then if they are not what we are looking for we delete. It's a starting point.

I think what the thread shows is that it's a minefield.

They're a bit hit or miss - occasionally I will check out the profile if the avatar looks good and maybe wink back, but a message gets my attention better, and then I'll know what the wink actually means too!

I look at their profile. If I like it I reply.

If they wink when my profile is just a dot I ask them why on earth they winked at me. Some people just wink everyone regardless in the hope of a reaction.
