I had my AA Drivers awareness training.

I opted for it instead of points.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Anyone ever done it?

Great Wyrley

No but I have been told its a good course.

Maybe new drivers should do the course before they get loose on the road.

Well today was the last possible day I could have booked myself onto it before they take me to court for not coughing up the £100 quid or £90 I forgot.

"So what did you do to get possible points? Huh? "

55 mph in a temporary 50. So technically debatable.

And did you debate it on the technicality?

My argument was this:

The speedo on my sat nav is different to the speedo on my actual car so one of them was wrong.

i did one last year...i was parked on zig zags. waiting for passenger as she got cash from atm and police pulled me. They actually put me in the back of their car and gave me ...you have the right to remain silent speech. I felt like crying. The course i attended was good and informative although it was mostly older people there due to jumping lights and mobile use whilst driving....maybe the older generation need to attend a course of somekind too

You do know you dont get the option again within 3 years? Points next time, if at all.

I jumped a set of lights this weekend, to my shame. It's those bloody multi-sets that have red and green on at the same time.

"So what did you learn?? "

I learnt that at 30 mph for every additional 2 mph that you travel at and if you hit someone (a pedestrian) you would be hitting them with a force that equates to 11 mph MORE than the speed that you hit them with.

If you hit someone.

I didn't hit anyone, i was doing 55mph in a temporary 50 on the motorway.

My first offence since about 2007.
