it brought a tear to my eye too. I like him and I think he (as far as I can tell anyway) is genuine in the things he says.

To answer your question yes it does melt my heart unless they're crying because their football team lost when I just think "man up!"

a woman who was singing reminded him of his aunt who had passed away. Some of the lyrics brought back memories for him. I had tears running down my face

Crying at appropriate moments is a sign of emotional intelligence. It is a wholeheartedly healthy response in many situations.

Because you're not too serious

Although the last time I saw a man cry, I laughed, it was over a film. He was alternating between laughing at himself and sniffling...

I'm just saying it's not something I do.

It would take something VERY deep rooted to make me cry and I haven't done it for a very long time.

Often films, music, dancing etc connect us with experiences from our past or archetypal stories that evoke emotions that we find difficult explain. We may cry, feel fear or anger in those moments and be completely unaware of why because it is coonecting with something in our unconscious.

Absolutely! We are all human, and emotions are part of us all. Anyone who wants to live with one dimensional entities is welcome to them. I adore men who are real and honest. That honesty includes their emotions. Some of the same people disliking guys crying would be the same people protesting about dishonesty from guys in the next forum post.

So when you said a man who cried deserves a punch in the face you really meant a brotherly arm round the shoulder and a tissue?

people cry too much these days its pathetic to see especialy on noel edmonds deal or no deal always coming out with some sob story. it seems fashionable, i would be ashamed of myself if i cried in front of people.

i understand if men cry because they are depresed or have lost someone, but often they do it on television to get attention.

Don't think i could cry in public or let anyone witness me crying. It's not a pride thing but i suppose my life is different. I'm meant to be the strong one, the one who doesn't get fazed by anything - that's how my friends and family see me. So, if i start balling my eyes out. That'd be weird.

...Greedy - if i cry in public. Punch me.

Depends really - I find it is quite selfish. If you are upset, why drag others into your misery? Suck it up and deal with it on your own time.

*This does not apply in all circumstances. I cried at the birth of my child and at the funeral of a close realtive. Otherwise I avoid it.
