I do and my latest freebie is 3 white plastic high back chairs. Great for preventing items going to landfill and everything is free

You need to have a yahoo account to begin with, then offer a few things first and then you can start to post for items you are looking for or contact someone who has something you would like. No pets or livestock tho.

I use it all the time. You'd be surprised at what you can get rid of - and what you can get.

I had an old cracked shower tray once, destined for the tip. Then I saw someone asking for an old shower tray as a dust bath for her chickens - I contacted her and hey presto - no trip to the tip and her chooks were happy. It's a great little system

I've had loads of great stuff off there. Alot of furniture which I've shabby chic'd and sold on after.. Touch of Annie Sloane and a good wax and bob is your uncle..

I've given quite lot away. Definitely better than sending it to landfill.

The most annoying thing is the one family that flood our local list with "Wanted" ads. Or the ones that ask for specific items..Like a whole bathroom suite in cream colour and gold taps..

We got rid of a two seater settee nearly new in cream leather. Will definitely use it again if we have stuff we don't want.

I use it. It's very good.

two tips :

If you're seeking items be quick or the good ones are gone.

If you're disposing, be very quick to post an "item taken" post or you may be inundated with emails.

Oh, and always use the first part of your postcode, especially if say "ZZ" is 50 miles across.
