Given how the "looking for love - seriously?" thread was going, with lots of people saying about people finding love in the stragest of places, What are peoples thoughts on objectophilia?

I personally cannont understand how people can form an emotional connection and sexual attraction to an inantimate object. For me personally, Conversation is the key to building a lasting connection/attraction and its not like inanitmate object can do that now is it

very difficult to understand this one but interesting too.

Peoples brains and emotions are all wired differently and as the old saying goes, just as long as no one is harmed I can't see a problem for those who aren't involved.

I can see the attraction in falling for something who don't answer you back or ask where you have been when you come home late

"I can see the attraction in falling for something who don't answer you back or ask where you have been when you come home late "

and doesn't eat the last Jaffa cake when you're in the shower.

There was a woman on tv recently who was in love with The Statue of Liberty, she had a model of it in her room and sometimes dressed as her/it. It was genuine love.

I have no idea what drives people who do this but I wonder if in their lives they have been so badly let down or treated by humans that they turn to inanimate objects. But then again what do I know?

I wonder if it more to do with disappointing previous realationships with humns that have drove them to 'give up' to real relationships and choose to have one with an object.

There is a gentleman on you tube at the moment thats is in love with and makes love to his car, lays unders the car at the front thrust his pelvis up towards the bonnet of the car whilst kissing the bumper of it - very strange

Count Your Blessings Cottage, Gratitude Grove

I love things but don’t fall in love with them the way I unfortunately do with men.

Objects don’t break peoples heart, disrespect them, cheat on them or abuse them

So they have a lot more going for them than many men
