Co-ordination

Somebody just convinced me to play 'Dance Central' on the kinect, and I was reminded of how woeful my balance and co-ordination are

Anyone else suffer like me?

What can one do to get better?

I do play football once or twice a week, and have read that ballroom dancing can help.

30+ years of clumsiness...is there a light at the end of the tunnel?

Please don't take this the wrong way, it sounds like a form of dyspraxia.

It's Quite common.

I've definitely got problems copying dance moves and can be quite clumsy... Quite adept at using a compass, typing, tying shoe laces and eventually getting the end of a bit of thread through the eye of a needle...

Perhaps it's a mild form.

Hopefully there are ways to improve matters

There's tests that can be done - Google it.

I've had a look at the signs and symptoms...

I have a tendency to drop things..or bump into things

And can have issues with organisation though that is likely to do with laziness as I'm very conscious of it.

Nothing else fits really... Just read that learning to skip can help

Remember - what works for one, may not work for another.

You may have to try many things before results start to show.

Good luck mate.

I can't follow dance moves either. I tried the dance one and an exercise vid but I get lost after 2 moves.

I'm a brilliant dancer though. As long as everyone else is pissed... then I (appear to) have great moves.

Left-handed people tend to be artistic - so you should be a good dancer.

I have problems with balance due to surgery I had on my spine and the problem that made it necessary an inner ear problem doesn't help either lol. I have exercises from my physio that are designed to help, they include strengthening your core and things like standing on one leg in front is a mirror. They do help especially if,, unlike me, you actually do them

I couldn't do stuff like this when my daughter had a dance mat but fun trying. I also learnt ballroom and Latin dancing as a teenager, you should try the ballroom, hard work but surprising how quick you pick it up

I have it too. Never been tested. Tests are £500 but it's more difficult to test in adults

Ballroom dancing is next for me I think, it's taken a priority position on every todo list app on my tablet so I'll get round to it eventually!

I just fear treading on toes!

That's delightfully sweet of you..thank you

I'm not sure youd be saying that if you were closer though...

One of my life's most embarrassing moments involves changing position from missionary to doggy during a rather sensual and passionate with a former lover.

I somehow managed to wack my face against something during the change...probably the headboard or something of similar density...and proceeded to have a nosebleed on the small of lady's back, half way through my first gyration..

Bit of a passion killer, that was

My balance isn't good and I am a rubbish dancer. I make up for it with other skills.
