Ampersand is the name of the symbol that means and = &.

Sometimes when people use & it comes out as amp.

Only in terms of stockings "amp" heels. Replace amp with &.

no not sexual.

The symbol & is called ampersand abbreviated to amp, so if someone types Mickey & Minnie, it sometimes comes out as Mickey amp Minnie.

Its called ampersand because when children used to recite the alphabet years ago they used to say at the end "and per se and" which got shortened to "ampersand"
