"There have been several topics on here regarding how people dress for meetings. So just thought I'd throw in a few observations we have noticed. Couples/singles dressing up, ie turning up in suit tie polished shoes, evening dress etc may make a nice first impression. However it does not always make for a nice couple to chat with or play with. Couples/singles turning up in trainers, denims, sports shirt etc. May not make a first impression but and its a big but. These people always seem to be the down to earth man in the street types and will always make you welcome and at ease. Nothing worse than feeling on edge at a meeting to spoil the atmosphere. Parties we have attended with a mix of both types always but always seem to end up with the suited and booted brigade making excuses and leaving before the fun starts, much to their loss we have seen. Which brings us to the crux of this discussion. Is there room in swinging for the class system of the UK to raise its ugly head? Do you allow the way someone dresses to affect your opinions of someone before you get to know them?" For me it's not what someone wears - it's who is wearing it, how they present themselves and how they wear whatever they are wearing. The same outfit can be worn by two different people and you like one person but not the other. If someone turns up in overalls cos they've lost all their clothes on a flight you can still find the person underneath attractive. If some miserable , pie eating halitosis ridden axe murderer turns up in sequins you can still see underneath the designer dress. Got to say - read your post several times and i'd say I can read what you think but i'll hang fire n see if it turns out to be x

For us it is about personalities every time

"I agree with Jezebel As women, we are rather expected to dress up to please I won't entertain a man at my place in trainers or jeans no matter how smart First impressions count " I'm curious as to why you think wearing jeans makes a bad first impression? I literally only own jeans, some smarter than others, but I always turn up in a smart pair of them, with a shirt etc etc... but if someone said no jeans to me, well I guess the reply to that would be no el_nino as I'd have no options, lol

Don't think there'd be anything someone wore that would put me off personally. Just to be pedantic for the sake of it, lol... I would never dream of wearing a short skirt on a meet, doesn't mean the person I'm meeting can't!

"i always show of my best asset if the person comment on a perticular part of body wear something that will show it off for them to see more better. in saving that one guy's nearly popped out when met with low cut top. i did have to remind them that they are real and can be touched as he could not belive that they were real. but most guys like my bum so wear tight trousers so it can be seen when walk in front of them." I love to wear a low cut top as if you bend forward you can get a guy to fumble his words.

" I dont limit myself I open myself up to meeting non jeans wearing men which is great I dont like them unless men are gardening in them Its just an issue of making an effort to me I equate jeans with being scruffy therefore dont wish to meet a man wearing them on a meet or date oh and I quite like men in ladieswear so I would prefer you in a skirt

It means the difference between having pulled one pair or trousers out of the cupboard as opposed to another?

I just dont like them It really is that simple Its no different to you liking a lady in a red dress as opposed to a yellow dress

I have a colleague who swears she wears her make up for herself, to make her feel good and keep up her confidence when she's out. She does not wear it for men ( she says ) and she does not want a man. Do lesbians wear make up ?

"I'll expand this a little, mainly because I have seen this mentioned a few months ago. I have just seen a reply to another topic mentioning dirty fingernails. So does this affect your meetings like dress code does? My thinking is this.... a guy may have a heavy manual job, which has the knock on affect of ingraining dirt into both the skin in his fingers and nails. No matter how much scrubbing he does, it will not move it all to the point it looks like he sits behind an office desk all day. Does that make him an unsuitable playmate?" Not unsuitable but less attractive the same as spots or someone who sweats more than average.
