I always say to any guy i have referred to the site if you cant handle rejection the site isnt for you as its more common on here than anywhere else, especially as a single guy, when you had the great idea to join for "wall to wall action" so did about 500 other guys, that may be more appealing to the people you would like to meet

There are many on here, or who have left, because they take rejection to heart...

They feel crushed, pushed down, "depressed"... At this point, as some of the helpful comments have suggested, you may consider leaving, or like me....

OP with respect I really think you need to take a break from here if you think the site is making you depressed.

I took a break last summer as my confidence hit a low and my mojo has buggered off to the far flung corner of the earth somewhere but I've never felt depressed.

I hope your counselling works

Why people chat and help each other here all the time. Why I love this site its not just sex its about people who at times need to off load and chat and see they are not alone when feeling low. your ok op .. you will find some here have had this here and not from maybe being on fab but things going on in their lives . xx

If it is seriously making you depressed, you need to seek professional help. Depression should be taken seriously as it can very quickly turn very nasty and change who you are.

You need to focus on you and you are the best person to do that-there's not a meet in the world that will fix the underlying issues which make you react the way you are to how this site is working out for you.

Depression is not an attractive trait and it is not conducive to building self esteem and confidence.

I been on here for 2-3yrs and still not had a meet. Had a lot of timewasters, fake profiles, escorts and mostly just no one attracted to me.

Yes it hurts, i have zero luck going out as well.

Fact is a single female on here even with just one non nude photo will get 100s of messages so to stand out, you gotta be something damn special, esp since a lot want someone whose been verified with meets.

I love sex, i wish i could do it everyday, its been 3yrs since i even had a cuddle.

I am depressed but a long list of reasons, i been diagnosed as bi-polar, but the last thing you wanna do is moan about it to everyone. Women like confidence, they dont wanna know about your depression etc

perhaps change your approach to people on here and you live centrally in the country and visit clubs etc to meet people who are genuine and socialize more. I am sure that many feel a bit depressed if things don`t go their way on here and like others have said take a step back from it or consider whether being on here is suitable for you

I seriously think you should come off this site, speak to your councillor and your close friends and family. At the end of the day people on this site (and me included) don't know you and so can't seriously make a positive comment....look back at the answers to your post. One has to have skin as thick as a rhinos on here and if one is a tad fragile for one reason or another than you need need to take stock. Come off this site and concentrate on sorting your head out. Are there 2 issues here - firstly feeling down/dismayed and secondly how you filter and choose your potential partners. If you are seriously emotionally low, please do something about it, as it is an illness, just as if you had a physical ailment. Otherwise, look at what emotional support you need. If youre single, noone knows you swing or are on here etc, then I guess it could be tough. Think around the problem for personal help to uplift you. Now the second bit - how are you choosing and filtering your meets? You will get better at identifying the good from the crap over time. Choose verified people only to increase reliability. Speak on the phone prior to meeting. And always trust your gut feel! Use fab to back up your swinging in the real world, not as your solitary route to this. For now- take care of yourself, and decide what it is that you need that will lift you. Good luck!

Interesting I find this site helps me get out of depressive periods, pop on meet up with funny FwB go do something that makes us giggle then some quality bedroom time after, nothing better for picking you back up.

One thing is say is try reading.f through some.statuses and find one you find.funny or interesting and send a message starting a convo about it. Don't be looking for sex just treat it as a chat on any other site, usually you get a far better response than the trying to set up a meet messages, and there's no expectation for you so there's no feeling let down.

of you get one we'll and make each other laugh then think about a meet, but otherwise the chat is fun by itself

op by your own admission you are already depressed. The site didnt cause it did it ? However it seems that it using the site is a contributing factor. Of course being depressed you just want to feel good and depressed people use many different ways to feel good, sex being a common one.

The site can be a bit addictive but if it's making you feel worse then delete your account and don't return until you're in a better place.

Look I had this myself when my dad died for months I never knew it until .. one day reading here a post and it was like they was chatting about me. People who know me know I am a very positive person and I could not see it .. as never lost a person so close and depression set in for months ... friends helped me and time . Now the op may have other things going on we don't know about and of loading here a little if it helps him I am glad ....We are in cyber space here and its not real half the time .. And yes it can get people down as it gives them hope of allsorts . Depression is like a very dark hole .. But theres a light if you look hard at the end .. But you yourself have to wish to go there and get out.

I think you need to take a break. Not going to tell you to man up as I have no idea what's happening to you outside of Fabs an don't want to contribute to any issues you might be having. People have different levels of resilience.

Sounds like you're running low on confidence. Try doing a few social events (non-fab) with mates. Sometimes, it's just about going out, having a good time and seeing where the night takes you. We get so wrapped up in sex that we forget we're also enjoying that person's company.

I've been depressed for nearly 4 years, my heart is literally stone from all the shit that's happened, I don't know if the op is depressed or just looking for sympathy but it should never be joked about

Use this site as a tool for your own desires OP, you certainly do not have to conform to what anyone else states here and that includes myself. One tip though is to have no expectations. The tool I would suggest you use this as is for socialisation on the net bearing in mind never to take anything personally because none of us know you so none of us should be judging you. The only right we have is judging (assessing) you in relation to ourselves, for ourselves (and that's more specifically for meets).

Looking at history another famous person suffered with depression on and off, and he was a Master in helping present day mental health experts in the field of psychology: Karl Jung. You have done the right thing in seeking help and talking therapies is something I'd advocate, so I hope you have an excellent counsellor. If you have family and friends in whom you can trust, then get them to support, sometimes just as a listening ear and other times to ensure you are not isolating yourself.

Depression works on three aspects of our lives and this is where you begin to treat it, or at the very least prevent the depression from spiralling to worse levels. Help your physical body: sleep, nutrition and exercise. Depending on the severity of your depression, you may need antidepressants (or short-term anti-anxiety meds), but not all depressive disorders requires these. Do talk to your GP (tip: look at your GP's practice online and see if any of the GPs specialise in mental health, or ask the receptionist... all doctors are not the same and unfortunately not all are up to the mark with mental health).

Socially I have touched upon - do not isolate yourself. Do find activities that can give you pleasure.

Psychologically - counselling is a great start but the hard work comes from within. Some of your mental constructs may have to change. The easiest one is to refuse to take things personally that simply cannot be personal. You may FEEL the offence but acknowledge you're feeling it due to your weakened state. It does get easier (in time) to brush off the negativity of others, but probably not yet.

Some things I've only touched upon, there is a huge amount of info that you counsellor should be able to access, if not then your GP. Do look after yourself and if you find you're ruminating (over-thinking) then occupy/distract your mind... eg reading, but if your concentration levels are down then I'd suggest a movie.

Chin up mate. The site's not that bad. You need to use it in a way that is fun and enjoyable for you. Just keep note that you won't always be meeting off here. It's not the be all or end all but don't let it put you down.

Exactly, admitting to being depressed about it in here is hardly a strategy to get laid, I would assume a guy is actually pretty depressed about it!

Having sex is often just one way we can temporarily relieve a bit of the stress in our lives, chasing the dragon I call it (even though I know that is a drug related phrase I use it to mean getting a fix of whatever you need).

I can understand why people in all kinds of situations come here for all kinds of reasons, and I see no reason why we shouldn't strive to help each other find a bit of humanity here too.

Its amazing at times reading the forums how 2 faced people can be. Its not that many years ago you were bleating wow is me about loosing your job and having to leave Hull. You were depressed looking for sympathy and a little comradery and now you feel the need to be derogatory casting aspersions. I hope the next time you feel down the same is dished out in a similar manner you can't deny it would be justifiable.

I'm not going to pretend there haven't been times when this site didn't make me feel frustrated by my apparent lack of pulling technique, but then I stopped worrying and saw it as another tool in discovering my sexuality.

I may never get a meet on there, but I learn about sex and more importantly myself so much using Fab that I no longer care.
