Have you ever considered having a dash cam in your car . Seen a lot of footage from them and thinking about having one if it helps support insurance claims.

Also remember that they don't come with an sd card (the mini one)

AND that cam above didn't like very high capacity cards

So a cheap 16gb class 4 card is good enoug

Hth

"Does it also monitor your speed via GPS?"

No

But there are ones that do

So they can be linked to google maps and pinpoint the exact site n time of any incident

More dosh though

My oh had a whiplash claim and multiple passengers appeared post bump...5 mph her fault

Other car sustained £1000 damage plus whiplash to the 4 people....

Strange that her car had not even a scratch and there was actually only one person in the other car!!!!!

They won btw

This was pre cam btw

Now I would not tell em about the cam and let em hang emselves before comming forward with my video evidence

Thanks for the info, it was precisely what I was enquiring for and also my daughter starts driving this year and it will give me the ability to see how/what she's doing on the road.

I haven't quite passed my test yet, embarrassing I know, but I'm definitely gonna have one when I'm on the road.

I'm amazed they are not standard fit on new cars.

Say £100 max in volume on a minimum what £10k car these days.

rochdale

I use a DRIFT HD 170 as a helmet/bike cam on my mountain bike to film my runs etc.

Its currently £129.99 from ActionSports.

Takes up to a 32Gb card although i used it for a weeks holiday in Spain & didn't run out of space on a 16Gb card.

It comes from a motorsport background and has various mounts you can buy for sticking on the dash, mounting on a motorcycle bodykit etc.

If my cycle commute were longer i'd definitely use it as an insurance policy.
