for me, I outstretch my arm and lightly bring my fingers down the face in front of me....

I gently smile and whisper the words " I truly, truly, love you'.....

after that, I take a piece of the finest linen and wipe any marks from the mirror.....

It's when the happiness and welfare of the other person, no matter what their gender and orientation may happen to be, is more important to you than your own.
