I suspect that it would be difficult, painful and, ultimately, dissatisfying; an anal mucosal tear is very painful, and takes ages to heal.

Unlike the vagina, the anal sphincters need to 'learn' how to relax i.e. the recipient needs to learn how to relax, fully, the external anal sphincter which has a voluntary nervous inner action.

You need to start small, use lots of lube and gradually increase the diameter of the plug. It's not as simple as just luring up and banging it in, massage, and dilatation of the sphincter by pulling the buttocks apart will all help.

Investing in a small stainless steel plug (not plated metal) that you can wear overnight will also encourage accommodation.
