with their price promise.

wanted some tiger bread which we usually get from asda, £1 each loaf

was closer to tesco and thought we would just pop in for the said loaf of bread, price? £1.30

mentioned to one of the managers and was told their price promise would be activated if you purchased 10 items in total.

so ok, we decided on a few more bits we needed anyway and in all bought 11 items including the bread (which was 30p dearer than asda)

total refund (by voucher off your next shop) was 4p

so to sum up, tesco price promise is a load of bollox. which i let management know (politely)

oh, forgot to mention, 2 of the other items we get from asda are 15p each cheaper than tesco, so in all we were expecting at least a 60p off next shop voucher

The supermarkets are engaged in a fleecing war; prices are changing on a near daily basis and with discounts that appear and then disappear over a couple of days. One product goes up 30 pence, another by a pound.

No discount on Champagne in Sainsbury's pre-Valentine's day.

My top tip; buy the bar code reader and printer for each supermarket on eB and decide how much discount you want.

i find asda is becoming cheaper than tesco, even though you get vouchers and whatnot from tesco, but ive also found that tesco shops do vary in there prices from area to area also.

Ive come across stories lately of people saving 20p a L on fuel at tesco's. Its to do with your clubcard or something, so much so Im going to register for a clubcard.

Back to the OP story, the tightfistted twats, 'Have to purchase 10 items' - since fucking when.

I would of gone mental, they would of thrown a 10p and a 20p at my head just to get me to pipe down

It's true tho, most of the big retailers are the same. I think that they should be compelled to list all items that have risen in price for the same period as those that have dropped.

If that's directed at me; at least it's accurate although, a little, understated.
