Leaving aside the spectacular Labour victory and the fact the Fib Dems lost their deposit (again) I was astonished to find the Tory candidate, who came third behind UKIP, is a vicar.

No wonder the church is held in such low regard nowadays.

In a weird way I feel a bit sorry for him. He was clearly a bright lad but he's surrounded by fools.

We were given the chance to vote for AV in May 2011 and the people said no.

I doubt it would have made any difference to the last general election either - we would have ended up with a coalition, which is what we have now.
