Has anyone seen the disabled ramp the council have built for the family in West Dumbartonshire??? Who in the name of god designed it???

Its on Yahoo, but did not know if I can post the link. Defo worth a look. It looks like something out of Alton Towers!

There's a limit to the incline powered chairs can handle - unless tweaked by Jeremy Clarkson.

It is in the metro online too, the council would have been working to guidelines but sure a external lift would have been better.

Steepness of the ramp can't be more than x, so to get that gradient, you need the length hence the zig zag...I'm pretty sure what was proposed was said to the woman.

The post man still has the steps on the side.

I think the moral is, careful what you ask or wish for.

Will save mowing the lawn...

We've just been assessed for a ramp ... they can only have so much of an incline, and they also have to have flat spots to allow a wheelchair to rest.

Add it all up, and a 24" lift over 10' needs a *lot* of area.
