" Not to mention that we loaned many of these countries money decades ago at high interest. They have since paid these off but are still having to pay off the interest. In many cases they have paid off these loans many times over. There is no chance they will ever pay off the interest as it simply accrues year on year. Hence the Drop the Debt movement. | |||

Any other talk is just nonsense and a distraction. As is getting people to be angry against each other - just a smoke screen to misdirect attention. Cameron did say money's no object, now that the problems are in tory voter land. When things are wrong up north, for example, nothing is said. | |||

Think you will find that was Franny Drake. You forgot the Romans, so we'll take Sicily, Ferrari, a few gallons of Olive oil, and a truckload of Parma ham. They can keep Fiat. Let's not forget the French who egged on Norman and his mates to shoot poor old Harold in the eye and set us on the road to doomsday. I believe Corsica is quite nice at this time of year, but let then keep Cap d'Agde because the Brits would turn it textile. Oh Morocco and Algeria, Barbary pirates raiding the south west and all that, so we'll have few barrels of oil and a bale or two of wacky baccy. Seriously though I'm sick of this collective guilt trip about the actions of our ancestors.
