Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I don't think I can take another story of a child killed by a parent. They have been haunting me this year. It's been almost one a week.

Didn't Price Phillip have something to say about cricket bats after a shooting?

Read the whole story it will give an insight into what happened...and the context she said it in

The Town by The Cross

His mother is not delusional.

Things would be better understood if people informed themselves before being more sensationalist than a cheap rag.

The Father suffered mental illness.

That does not preclude him from feeling deep love for his family.

It's tragic but not as clear cut as mobs would like so that they can tut and judge.

Why the fuck didn't anyone in the crowd stop him?

His mental illness wasn't mentioned in the thread until after my post, I was commenting based on what I'd read, obviously not having read the whole story. I suffer from a mental illness myself so would be the last to judge when that's concerned!

How long does it take to stab someone fatally before others know it's going on ?

He had a cricket bat and a knife...he was sprayed with some substance that did not do anything he then went for medical staff and police officers...he was shot in the chest after going for an officer with a knife..there was nothing anyone could of done in this tragedy

The Town by The Cross

Describing the moments leading up to her son's death she said 'Luke came to me and said, 'Could I have a few more minutes with my dad?' because he doesn't see him very often and I said, 'Sure, OK.'

'It was just a little cricket practice, there were people there, I believed he was safe,' said Mrs Batty, 52.

'No one loved Luke more than his father. No one loved Luke more than me — we both loved him.'

Recounting the horrific incident, she added: 'It was just a normal cricket practice and most of the kids and their parents had gone.

Okay.

How long does it take to hit someone with a cricket bat before anyone knows what's going on ?

Maybe they were too late.

Too far away.

Not even there .....

I do understand what you mean, beaten to death does not suggest one quick blow, it suggests numerous blows, and you can't help but think...why did noone stop him, it says it was done infront of shocked kids and parents, I know you have to be there to know but you would have though someone who have stepped in, mind you its a weird world we live in now days people don't like to get involved

i understand he had mental illness and that he loved his son, but if he did that to my son i wouldnt be saying anything nice about him, i would be too angry and upset.
