My mum is really old school, old fashioned but moves with the times.

She is a best mate to me I can tell her anything " as such" lol.

I'm doing the same with my daughter, we " are mates" but she still knows I'm her mother, so if I get firm she knows who is boss.

Mine died 9 years ago, I was lucky enough to know her for all those years but gutted some of her Grandkids didn't. She was far too young.

I no longer have my mum... But my kids tell me I'm cool, although should grow up and settle down, and if they are as fun as me at my age they will be happy.

My mum and I have had a fairly tempestuous relationship over the years. But the last few months have seen things change, she is my best friend.

I don't understand why women can abandon their children, but kudos goes to those who step into a stepmother role and succeed.

Having lost my mum and dad, I'm glad I have such good memories to keep hold of and very much feel sad for those who don't have a good relationship with their parents.

My kids and I have a really good relationship

Mums are human beings with the same insecurities and emotions as anybody else. That said the mother child bond, which is ideally about total trust and acceptance, can and should withstand some serious challenges as children grow up.

I d like to think that it is a life long bond and judging by the way I am with my own mother and in turn how my kids are with me... it will last a life time, with ups and downs, but ultimately one of the strongest, if not THE strongest bonds I have experienced.

Absolutely! It is part of the relationship - love does not mean you always see eye to eye or never fall out

i moan about mine a lot and feel that i am 3rd in the line of favourite kids a lot of the time as i am the eldest (youngest one will always be the baby and stayed with her when my parent split, middle one is the prodigal daughter who bore her grandchildren) but i know in the grand scheme of things she isnt that bad really.

She love me and never really means to play favourites etc
