I'm glad I put extra bracing on my fence last week as it is taking the strain at the minute. Just got back from driving along the A14, not pleasant out there

Halton

Very wind round here (Manchester and Warrington)

Took me 90 mins to get home leaving at 4:00 (normally 40 mins)

Just checked the traffic and everything is really gridlocked.

Feel sorry for the poor buggers stuck going nowhere.

north Down

I can't believe that we now get storms especially at this time of year. Never in my 47 years have I seen the like of it, was never wet, cold and windy years ago. Flood plains never flooded, especially when, you didn't maintain the flood defences. Very unusual indeed.

There probably wasn't so much housing crammed onto floodplains in the past.

The road was closed off in a neighbouring village earlier this evening as part of the pub roof had come away. No one was hurt luckily but part of the lead landed by the bus stop. Hope everyone is ok.
