Police are reporting that people are travelling miles to witness the floods and on occasions are pilfering those flooded and staying elsewhere , one woman on the news today had travelled from manchester to see the somerset levels and other areas... Wtf ?

I find it quite strange and liken it to the "rubber neckers" when an accident has occured on the roads.

I can understand people going to the coast to see the big waves, quite like the storm chasers, I've seen the Somerset levels flooded in the past whilst travelling through on a train but wouldn't go specifically to see it, coming from Manchester she might as well have stopped in the lake district.

Had the Duck Pond had an extension?

Well i say duck pond,, its a large area of fresh water,, and in the corner of this area they have a nice gravel area with benches and its specifically so people can feed the ducks..

the level of the water had risen and so spilled over the ledge and taken up some of the feeding area. Safe enough to use though

I'm beginning to wish I'd invested some money in a sandbag factory now, rather than in that campsite in Somerset.....

In Your Bush

There is widespread wetness everywhere. I've seen two soggy gussets in the new pics section. They are playing water sports in the Swingers forum and one man is sobbing uncontrollably in Site Feedback.

Somewhere wet near you.

Yeah, and we have the breakwater to help too, there is one restaurant on the Hoe that gets wiped out quite frequently. Kingsands which is at the end of the breakwater on the Cornish side is quite sad though, the buildings are on the beach there and after being okay for a couple of hundred years could now be collapsing. People were in their homes when the waves were taking their front doors off and flooding the houses. That must have been scary...

Have you heard of Hallsands? Happened along time ago.
