"For me Claire it started with cards. I thought I could make better than I was buying. So now I have punches, papers, card stock, embellishments, glues, ribbons, special colouring pens, glitter etc. I could go on. It's taken over a room. I now have knitting on the go and we've started to make things with sequins. Not to forget the odd cross stitch. " It's terribly addictive!!!

And expensive, my Mum started doing craft work with pergamano and has spent loads over the years. At first I thought wtf is that, but after a short time she was producing some quite impressive items. " I love peragmano looks beautiful it seems a hard craft to master. Not to sure I'd have the patience for that though.

"I took up crocheting for something to do in the evenings when I'm bored at home. Now I'm obsessed! I'm halfway through 2 single bed sized blankets, have another one and a pram sized one to do once those are done. 2 throws for my sofa and I've done some hats for my nieces this weekend. It was meant to be a cheap hobby!! Hasn't quite worked out that way, it does stop the boredom though! Anyone else started something and then really gotten into it??? " Sooooo looking forward to the crocheted outfit at jaydees!

" I think it looks more complicated than it is, as a lot of the time it is just like using tracing paper... My mum started doing the 3d stuff set in deep frames, they were good. She done loads of things for the tables at my wedding, little hexagonal boxes with sugared almonds, place settings etc. Has done it for a few other peoples wedding as well. She's stopped doing it so much now and does a lot more card making, recently sold a lot of her pergamano stuff on ebay and then went and spent all the money at a craft fair She did go to lessons to start with, to pick up the basics, so as well as occupying her time it became quite a social thing for her which was nice.

My friend does age makes loads of lovely stuff x" If you factor in the time and materials for a fair price when selling craft work it seems to come out very expensive. You have to find people willing to pay extra for the hand made and originality of the items. I've seen handmade cards being sold for £3.50 plus each, you can buy boxes of cards for that in some places.

I do get people complaining about the price but I do explain exactly what you're paying for. People either want homemade or they don't.

I've seen a report on them, quite low selling fee compared to ebay, they specialise in selling craft type objects. Worth a Google.
