The reason managers get the salary they get is to get the best from the players .

Pretty much the same 11 that won the title by 11 points last season !

Mata, Rooney, Hernandez, Van Persie, Carrick, Flecture and Janazjai keep. Get rid of the rest and the manager too. His comments after the last game was enough proof to me he can't handle a club like United.

Moyes was handed a shit squad from Fergie. The blame actually lies with Fergie who continued to not replace players and esp not buy quality creative midfielders. Fergie knew the team was shit thats why he was so desparet to get RVP from Arsenal as he knew that would be his final season. He knew the job at hand was huge and he didn't have the energy for it. Moyes is the fall guy. However, his decision making at times has been baffling. The attack for United is good its the frigging defence which needs sorting out. Vidic going is good. Evra needs to go as well. United need a new defence. They can kiss goodbye to the CL next season

i believe he is doing a job with players that have only been able to play on the front foot and have no idea of any other way of playing, yes.

good or bad is not my view.

the players have forgotten how to defend, pure and simple.

the ONLY reason fergie won what he did was by having a superb keeper that hid a lot of defensive frailty, and the same last year.

vidic and ferdinands legs have gone, pure and simple.

evra and raphael spend far too much time on the attacking 2/3 of the pitch.

they play the fergie way

moyes doesnt manage the fergie way.

if you wanted a team playing the fergie way, then dig the old fekker up and convince him to get back in charge.

i have no idea as to what you are referring to.

Rooney has been far and away Uniteds best player, and in all honesty, Englands best player, except for tournaments, for 5 years.

england fans love him.

football fans hate him because of who he plays for.

thats the tribal nature of football.

united fans hate liverpool players

spurs fans hate arsenal players

everyone hates chelsea players, its the way it is.

you HAVE to follow your national team players, no matter who they play for the other 6 months of the year.

I know nothing about football but surely there will be a transition period and in no way is any manager going to stay in any club as long as ferguson did.

If Wenger stays at arsenal for 9 years. He would have over taken Fergie and he's only 65. So it's doable. Also there was that Crewe manager too, but I can't remember his name now .

I admit we are in transition and we need a clear out, but even so we should be beating teams like Cardiff, Fulham, West Brom easily. It's teams like Man city, Chelsea that should be beating us not them. Everyone I know has questioned his selection choices. For example why not pick Zaha as he's clearly better than Young and Valencia. He even delayed picking Janazaj for a month and even then he said it was too soon for his liking and he's been our best attacker this season. So maybe results would have gone a bit better of we started with them two, him especially.

zaha was awful for cardiff this past weekend, so why would you want him to be awful for you?

he is getting a tune out of young.

janujaz, apparently, isnt a winger, so why would he play him as such?

the absolute best thing that could happen to united in the summer, and im sorry if you dont think the same, but trust me.

sell van persie.

he disrupts the team

he scores, yes, but the team seems odd with him in it.

rooney does a lot more for the team, more cohesive.

i dont understand why he hasnt had that spot up front like he did after ronaldo went to Real, he scored nearly 30 goals that season.

rvp is a 1 in 5 season player and a complete waste of money

always was for arsenal and is the same for united.

get 15/20mil for him and thats decent business

Everton beat Man U at their place !

Moyes never managed to do that when he was in charge at Everton !

The Man U squad he inherited was far superior to the Everton squad he left behind. The difference ?

Moyes strategy tactics selection and man management are not suited to winning silver ware. Simple.

He will need several seasons before he learns how to win championships !

In what other environment do you pay someone to do the job and them accept they will not be able to do it for a few years ?

He was an arogant fool he sacked Fergusun's back room staff which was his folly. All the tosh about not getting players in.....well he know he was getting the job months before so he could have had players watched and penned in. The reality is he isn't a natural winner and has lost his way a little. With time he might get it right but that's only a might as without champions league action next year (its looking that way) it will be difficult to get premium players in.

I think before long we'll have some leaks coming out of the dressing room to add to Moyes woes, as well.

Aside from the fact, he's not up to it, in terms of tactics and man management, I think he's got an even bigger long-term problem - players don't want to play for him. I don't think he inspires them. Added to that, if they don't qualify for the CL, he won't be able to attract the top players, anyway.

His fruitless foray into the transfer market last Summer was proof, the players he targeted, just didn't fancy playing for him.

He needs to man-up and admit, he's up to his neck in it, and way out of his depth.

how do you work out the squad he left wasnt as good as the one he walked into?

the fact that they beat man u is testiment to the fact he actually managed to build a bloody good squad there.

and, while we are on the subject of everton, they are playing better football, but are no better off than they were under Moyes, so its pointless.

again, i will say it.

the man u squad is average.

its suited to attack attack attack and moyes doesnt coach that kind of football.

fergie must have known this before saying he should take over, otherwise its fergies fault, pure and simple, like its fergies fault the sqaud is so average

yes it will take a few years to get it right, but no more than it has taken liverpool to start being contenders again.

only difference between united fans and liverpool fans, that i have noticed, is liverpool fans every year, without fail, said they were good enough to win the league lol

You believe that player for player Everton have a squad that can match u ?

You are correct moyes cannot coach attacking football. He didn't the whole time he worked Everton. Surely that's not Fergussons fault ?

Man city and Chelsea are two teams with world class squads and world class managers. They are the two teams who will dominate English football for a couple of years and compete in Europe.

All 'fans' of teams say stupid things because they are by definition biased ! They are fans ! But that's not what I was taking about.

I am season ticket holder....and was at the game. Moyes needs time. Yesterday defensively in the 3/4 attacks that Fulham had we were a shambles. No organisation and no leadership.

One thing we had 75% of the ball! and 81 crosses it's a shame that no1 of our strikers got near the ball. There was no guile or craft appalling really when you have matta, carrick, Rooney and Rvp on pitch. When januja came on we looked better.

The other fans that are laughing at us let them continue as I will still keep the red flag flying. You support the team through thick and thin

Ok, I'm a Chelsea fan ( and before anyone starts, i have supported them for 40 years!) and i think Moyes is a decent manager

But two things, is 'decent' good enough for MU and the expectations are so much higher than at Everton.

It is, basically, the same squad who won the PL last year but the other teams ( us, City, Arse and Liverpool) have improved a heck of a lot and MU have stood still.

They haven't they have gone backwards you only have to look at results against lesser teams last season and this to realise that.

Yeah, they have actually, i was just trying not to sound too happy about it!

They need at least 4 or 5 new players starting from the back. But, obviously, i hope they don't get them!

They should have gone for Mourinho.

He would have built a dynasty and continued their legacy.

Installing Moyes at the helm, has ensured its been tainted for good.

The problem is if they drift for a couple of years they could be in the wilderness for an age. These days the top top players only want to play for clubs in the Champions League (probably because they can afford to pay the highest wages). Moyes has a major rebuilding job to and it is going to be hard to do so within a financially constrained plc. So he is going to need to get lucky (as arguably did with Suarez) and take a bet on some players with potential who have yet to prove they are world class. I think Champions League qualification would make the job a lot easier but it is hard to see on current form that they can bridge a 9 point gap. The comparison with Mourinho is a good one, he inherited a squad which needed a bit of a shake up, but he has done it, made some tough decisions on senior players early (Cole, Lampard, Mata) and bought in real quality (Willian and Matic). I think it could be a tricky period for United, as Liverpool have shown, a dynasty can be destroyed in a couple of seasons and can take decades to recover, even more so now days with the distorting effect of Champions League money.

Being a Fulham fan, I loved that game yesterday. It was all the other games this season I hated.

The fact is that man utd were not good enough last season but luckily for them every one of their rivals also had a bad year. Ferguson managed to get the best out of an average squad. Without van Persie they would have come 4th or 5th.

6 months on and it's showing just how poor the squad is!

My theory is no champions league this year = £40million down so no money plus no quality player will want to join them if they are not in champions league, and the viscous circle starts!

I'm not suggesting that their finances are as bad as say Leeds utds were but as they found out these things happen very very quickly.

I don't blame moyes I Blame ferguson for not buying 2 years ago'.

Either way it's good for the premier league with a 3 possibly 4 horse race and 1 if them horses ain't man utd !

Mixed beliefs here. I believe you're right in saying every club had a very bad year and United had an average year. Hence why they one the league last year. At the end of the day though they finished with 89 points for 2 years running. So they maintained there good fortune whereas everyone else dropped a few levels. So I believe even if everyone played normally last year. United still would have one it as no one would get past the 90 point barrier. That said Fergie did leave us with an average squad. However I still think only the big "4" should be above us and we shouldn't be losing against West Brom and struggling against the lesser clubs. Moyes had the option of bringing people in and for whatever reason he didn't and also sacking the back room staff was stupid to say the least and that's why we are in this position.

Last year Van Persie went 10 league games without scoring and we still one them all. So even though he was a great help for the majority of the season. We coped without him to at times. Why was Fergie looking for a scholes replica is beyond me as he was unique and world class and irreplaceable. He should have just got a talented player who different to scholes, but still class none the less. 7 players have to leave this year and 5 or 6 have to be brought in. Team doesn't need a new 11. Just players who will play for the club and just being in the odd player or two for each position. Like bring in 2 midfielders, but don't pick 4 new players straight away as they need time to gel. Ease one in at a time. It's all gloom and doom because for some reason no player is playing for Moyes.
