Professional snobbery

I have a job I love and one I have a professional qualification for

( how clever am I?

However I have continued to do a couple of voluntary jobs within the same field

I do it because I really enjoy it and get something totally different from it that I do t when I get paid

Can't explain it . But guess those that have done or do voluntary work will understand

Today I was on some training and a woman who was so far up her own arse and spouting her _iews all day

Interrupted a few of us and said

"your just a volunteer"

Now thankfully I resisted the temptation to shoot her down or indeed tell her she was a stupid ignorant biatch

But got me thinking

What should I have said

She clearly thought she was above me , yet I'm probably more qualified than she is

often the procedure is to report on each participants performance during training. hopefully her attitude will be noted and reported back. personally, knowing this, i would respectfully have informed her of her discrimination, error in judgement regarding my level of training, and lack of respect to those who are actually just as, if not arguably more, committed than she is. but I'm an American living in Britain and many wouldn't take that route.

all of that can be encompassed in the three words quoted above

Think deeper in you're mind,there's a reason she's derogative.

She probably craves the respect of others an that's her way of doing that.........no doubt sitting at home right now thinking to herself "why don't people like me?"

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Didn't the trainer say anything?

I have never met "just" a volunteer.

Your right

I kept my _iews to myself but every time she opened her gob I saw many people roll their eyes

Some horrible feckers in this world

She came to sit beside me at lunch

Well for about 30 seconds before I fecked off

They punish themselves really.

I always live by the saying, weak people revenge. strong people forgive. intelligent people ignore.
