" Spray WD40 into all crevices till fully lubricated to the point it drips out of all orifices at rear of lock, wait then vigorously use fingers on the sensitive areas to loosen. If it fails take it to a garage. | |||

I was undoing my tailgate and accidentally locked the car on the fob .. so pressed the button again at the same time as pulling the catch ... the catch went in and stayed in .... and the boot wont open ......... have tried locking and unlocking it again but the catch is still in .... any ideas please? Spray WD40 into all crevices till fully lubricated to the point it drips out of all orifices at rear of lock, wait then vigorously use fingers on the sensitive areas to loosen. If it fails take it to a garage. its not the lock its the bit of the tailgate u flick to open it ... the lock is at the bottom near the bumper this is halfway up the door " It could be the spring has gone then or latch mechanism if its flappy you may be able to get a 2nd hand part or you may be able to get it rebuilt if its the mechanism not the lock it might be fiddly though. | |||
