I love regional accents! Mine is really awful, a sorrowful and bastardized mix of a very localized East Midlands accent and Brightonian which is a bit like a softer Essex/South London accent IMO.

It`s a local thing Crystal! Rabbits were, probably still are, the scourge of the stone miners on Portland. The rabbits digging caused many of an accident in the quarries and caves and to this day the locals will not entertain rabbits in speech let alone as pets. Even the Wallace And Grommit film "Revenge Of The Wharerabbit" was banned from the only cinema on the island!

Blimey yes! Been gone for at least 10 years and even the remaining bit used by the Coastguard helicopter will probably soon be gone too as the chopper is being stopped. Think the old concrete sectional flats were refurbished for the Olympics to accomodate the sailing teams but that will be the only bit to remain.

We were both born and grew up in the same town, lived there to our early 20's.

Moved a couple of towns away when we brought our first place. Then moved back to exactly the same area (within 2 roads) a couple of years back.

We get a nose bleed if we go too far
