have booked a very nice steak restaurant for next weekend for a special occasion and made me wonder, what steak do you go for and how do you have it cooked?

I like a bone-in rib-eye rare/medium rare

I guess steak is a bit like swinging, everyone has their own preferences which others may or may not agree with! Which cut do you go for?

Very difficult to get good steak now, all very tender grain fed with nice marbling but no flavour.

I can be bribed with T-bone, ribeye and Rump

"Dare I say I don't like steak "

your choice....so absolutely fine! I find steak cooked in a proper steak restaurant in a proper broiler is a totally different experience to steak cooked at home, worth trying one day.

Gloucester

Any steak, and have no standard preference to how it's cooked, it depends on my mood at the time, although not blue as I find it cools too quickly.

A restaurant near me does Man v Food challenges, 1 of which is a 64oz steak. Don't know what cut it is, think it's just half a cow on a plate.

Personally I like a rib eye cooked on the rarer side of medium.

1 person to my knowledge. Its not just the steak, its the fries, mushrooms, peas etc that went with it.

A friend of mine attempted it, but she just couldn't get anywhere close. It was 2" thick in places!

Sirloin tonight for me. Salt and peppered before going into red-hot pan, cook medium rare, straight onto plate with steak-chips, onion rings and peppercorn sauce.

Then you need to go to my favourite Argentinian steak place. They have the best Malbec and steak offer I have ever seen or tasted.

Try the Palm on Pont street or the Butlers Wharf Chop House just near tower bridge. Both serve excellent steaks.
