Because Neitzche attributed historical events to the actions of 'supermen' - its just one of the ways you can interpret history. I tend not to subscribe to his philosophy much. | |||

I saw it as another overstatement of the influence of very powerful men in shaping history. But then, I find the BBC likes a bit of that in general. | |||

The programme showed the background of the individuals, showed their strengths and weaknesses and provided and real insight into how those in positions of power in the key countries at the outbreak of war while clearly stating that their actual influence was marginal. | |||
