Only a few towns in the country have the title 'Royal'

How would you feel if your town/city was awarded the status of Royal.. would it be a good or a bad thing?

Not sure it would make much of a difference either way....

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Lots applied to get the Diamond Jubilee award of being called Royal arguing it would be good for them.

My Borough became a royal Borough last year, although I'm not sure of its importance, I just know they must have spent a fortune on changing every single Road name sign

Can't see what difference it would make except to the tourist trade

They had to show how they would do it as part of their Jubilee application. Lots of businesses sponsored their local authorities to go for it but yes, a fortune will have been spent.

Titz Towers, North Notts

I live in a depressed mining area. We don't get much in the way of tourists here, so I doubt it would help any.

They drive by Mansfield on their way to Edwinstowe. Probably just as well, as a lot of the local scallywags are still into the robbing the richer idea....
