how to make a latte....

I have a cafetiere and fresh ground coffee )I think I need espresso, no fancy machine, no way of making steam short of ripping my boiler apart, anyone know the best way to make one? How would one go about heating the milk? Hob or microwave?

Microwave the milk. Froth the milk. Add coffee substance & sugar/sweetners as required.

Get a jar put milk in jar put lid on jar...shake the milk take lid off put straight into microwave for 30 sec milk with froth then pour into coffee

Need to know basis

Heat the milk in a pan on the hob till its close to boiling point, remove from the hob....throw the coffee in the milk, back on the hob and whisk for a few minutes till its frothy! add a few tiny midget marshmallows...!

But the way Pudddin does it is really yummy!

To do it properly, you'd need to start with an espresso, which is made by high-pressure steam, which extracts the oils from the coffee.

However, a reasonable substitute can be made with a stove-top moka.

Use a "continental" blend coffee. The ready-ground supermarket ones can be quite good, if you aren't it grinding it yourself.

Make the moka, and boil some milk (semi skimmed will do) until it starts to bild over.

Mix the two in a vessel of your choice.
